2024 Dodge Charger: New Dodge Charger Mid-Size Car Exclusive Review

Posted on

2024 Dodge Charger: which previously bore the Mustang logo on an electric vehicle while on the Ford side, is not the first EV muscle car, and the Ford Mustang Mach-E is a popular SUV with the general public. The Ford Mustang Mach-E exhibits noteworthy performance; however, it shares more similarities with the F-150 Lightning and Ford Explorer than with the pony car that provided its moniker.

In contrast, the Chevrolet Camaro remains silent, and there have been no official announcements regarding its future as an EV or other vehicle. This is the foundation upon which Dodge’s garage door is opened; the company has permanently discontinued its renowned Hemi V-8 and is now attempting to reinvent the muscle car.

Electric vehicles are intended to be politically correct and environmentally beneficial, according to Dodge CEO Tim Kuniskis. However, the 2024 Dodge Charger Daytona does not meet these requirements. This is accomplished with the new Electric Charger, which continues the brand’s unorthodox approach while setting it apart.

Dodge debuted the new Charger on Tuesday, a gas-powered muscle car of the next generation in addition to an all-electric model.

Providing gas-powered and electric variants of the vehicle would increase Dodge’s production flexibility, given the unanticipatedly sluggish sales of electric vehicles.

The 2024 Charger EV, also known as the Daytona, will be Dodge’s inaugural electric vehicle and will go on sale this summer. In about 2025, the gas-powered vehicle will be available.

2024 Dodge Charger Review

The 2024 Dodge Charger is an all-electric vehicle that offers the driving experience of a muscle car. It appears that the Dodge Charger Daytona EV is intent on multiplying its power in market, road, and race track scenarios.

In addition to the gasoline-powered Charger models listed for the Charger Daytona Scat Pack and the 496 for the 2024 Dodge Charger Daytona R/T, Dodge is also introducing a Charger model with a twin-turbocharged Hurricane inline six-cylinder engine that will make its debut in 2025 or 2024. Gas chargers identify electric chargers for the Model 2024 Dodge Charger by the suffix Daytona. These chargers are powered by a 100.5 kW nickel cobalt aluminum battery that also supplies electricity to the front and rear motors.

The new two-door 2024 Dodge Charger differs in appearance from its predecessors by emulating the design aesthetics of the first and second-generation Chargers with streamlined, contemporary accents on the exterior and interior. However, it may take a few years for the phrase “EV muscle car” to gain widespread recognition among petrol-powered enthusiasts.

2024 Dodge Charger

Despite this, the 2024 Dodge Charger Daytona’s force and aesthetic appeal are indisputable. The two-door electric vehicle of the first iteration will be succeeded by a four-door model in 2025, which will be offered in both fuel and electric configurations.

The 2024 Dodge Charger is unveiled in its entirety, and the Charger Daytona derivative, which operates solely on electricity, signifies the manufacturer’s inaugural foray into the rapidly expanding domain of electric muscle cars. Production of the 2024 Dodge Charger two-door model is anticipated to commence in the middle of 2024, with deliveries commencing thereafter. Production of the four-door sedan versions of the Charger Daytona R/T and Daytona Scat Pack, as well as the two-door and four-door gasoline Charger models, is targeted to commence in early 2025.

Furthermore, we anticipate that the 2024 Dodge Charger, which will feature an even more potent SRT Banshee variant, will not debut until the 2026 model year.

Important point:

  • Dodge debuted the new Charger on Tuesday, a gas-powered muscle car of the next generation in addition to an all-electric model.
  • Providing gas-powered and electric variants of the vehicle would increase Dodge’s production flexibility, given the unanticipatedly sluggish sales of electric vehicles.
  • The 2024 Charger EV, also known as the Daytona, will be Dodge’s inaugural electric vehicle and will go on sale this summer. In about 2025, the gas-powered vehicle will be available.

Two-door and four-door models

This summer, the 2024 Charger EV, also known as the Daytona, will go on sale. It has a 0-60 mph time of 3.3 seconds, 627 foot-pounds of peak torque, and up to 670 horsepower.

The initial EV model will have two doors, and a four-door model will follow in the first quarter of the following year. In 2025, the gas-powered Charger, featuring a brand-new six-cylinder engine, will be available for purchase.

Kuniskis stated that pricing information will be made available closer to the time of production for both gas-powered and electric vehicles. At present, gas-powered Charger and Challenger models cost between $33,000 and $96,000 at the dealership.

Eventually, both two-door and four-door configurations of the electric and gas-powered vehicles will be available, supplanting the four-door Dodge Charger and two-door Challenger. This modification was mandated by Carlos Tavares, CEO of Stellantis and proprietor of Dodge, in order to reduce costs and components for his brand executives.

All electric and gas-powered vehicles, according to Dodge, will have identical exterior and interior designs, which will reduce production costs and complexity.

Kuniskis reaffirmed Tavares’ claim that his company had nothing to lose by offering electric vehicles in order to increase sales or satisfy federal fuel economy regulations when queried about the profitability of EVs.

During the recent transition of numerous manufacturers to smaller, more fuel-efficient engines, Dodge unveiled various iterations of the Hellcat and other high-performance vehicles. Although these models enhance the recognition of the automaker’s brand, they fail to diminish its carbon emissions. Consequently, the organization is obligated to procure carbon credits from alternative automakers, including Tesla.

Stellantis’ “Dare Forward 2030” strategic objectives consist of the following: transitioning to more efficient and electrified propulsion technologies; reducing the global carbon footprint by 50 percent by 2030; and establishing a benchmark for the transportation industry by attaining net zero carbon emissions by 2038.

Kuniskis stated that neither a V-8 nor a plug-in hybrid electric variant are in the works for the new Charger, which will be manufactured at the Stellantis facility in Windsor, Ontario, Canada.

2024 Dodge Charger Daytona

The Charger Daytona EV will initially be available in “R/T” and “Scat Pack” trims, with 496 and 670 horsepower respectively. The R/T’s range with a full charge is estimated at 317 miles, while the Scat Pack will top out at 260 miles, according to Dodge.

A feature known as “PowerShot” will be included on Charger Daytona vehicles, providing an additional 40 horsepower for 15 seconds when triggered.

“We will replace the supercharger and replace it with kilowatts and PowerShot,” he said.

This redesigned Charger is heavily inspired by the concept car that Dodge launched in August 2022. It is a modern yet nostalgic version of the current Dodge Challenger, with a more aerodynamic but still muscular look. Most notably, the front has a large opening for air to pass through, which the company calls the “R-Wing.”

Kuniskis described the concept car as a “production car hiding in plain sight” in an effort to acclimate buyers to the new design.

Dodge is still working on the sound of the EV, according to Kuniskis. The idea is to mimic the roar and ride quality of Dodge’s current gas-powered Charger and Challenger.

While electric vehicles can be fast, with “linear acceleration” that delivers impressive 0-60 mph figures, they often lack the driving thrill that many high-performance car customers appreciate. It’s a challenge that auto executives are quietly trying to overcome as the industry shifts to electric vehicles.

The gas-powered Charger will be powered by Stellantis’ 3.0-liter twin-turbo “Hurricane” inline-six engine, which also powers the Jeep Wagoneer and Ram 1500.

The difference between electric vehicles and natural gas vehicles may be the use of the split deltoid “Fratzog” emblem for electric vehicles instead of Dodge’s current double racing stripes. Kuniskis said the company is still deciding whether to use Fratzog – a made-up word first used by Dodge from 1962 to 1976 – for natural gas vehicles.

2024 Dodge Charger Report

Reports are available now that the company’s first electric vehicle is designed with a muscle car ethos, placing performance and horsepower ratings ahead of efficiency and range estimates. This will become clear when the first examples go on sale this fall.

As Kuniskis said during a media briefing before the reveal, “This is still the fastest and most powerful muscle car you can buy when it comes out.”

For the 2024 model year, the Charger will only be available with an electric powertrain, which then applies to models bearing the Daytona name. Every Charger uses the STLA Large modular platform but the Daytona has a 400-volt electrical architecture. Next year, Dodge will introduce the maximum-performance SRT Banshee model with an 800-volt system and two-speed transmission as well as a Charger with an internal combustion engine.

The latter “Sixpack” variant will use Stellantis’ Hurricane Twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder engine, but here we’re focusing on the Charger EV. The ’24 Charger Daytona lineup will only be offered in two-door body styles with a four-door version coming next year.

The familiar R/T and Scat Pack trim levels are carried over from the previous generation. Both will have dual electric motors providing standard all-wheel drive. The R/T will debut with up to 496 horsepower and 404 pound-feet of torque and the Scat Pack will come with up to 670 horses and 627 pound-feet.

However, that standard power peak only applies to the 2024 model, as every R/T is equipped with the 40-horse Dodge Direct Connection Stage 1 package; Scat Pack has 80 ponies worth of Stage 2 kits. Next year, it will be optional and cost extra, so base-level production per car will be lower.

To unlock the Daytona model’s peak power, there is an over-boost function called “Power Shot” that allows bursts of 40 hp for up to 15 seconds. Dodge says that although there is a 30-second delay between Power Shot activities.

These activities can be used indefinitely until the battery runs out. With a usable capacity of 93.9 kWh, Dodge estimates the battery will provide an EPA range of 317 miles for the R/T and 260 miles for the Scat Pack.

Equipped with an 11.0 kW internal charger, the Daytona model offers a peak charging rate of 183 kilowatts when plugged into a 350 kW DC fast charger. This connection is claimed to be able to charge the battery from 20 to 80 percent in around 28 minutes.

What caught our attention:

  1. The 2024 Dodge Charger Daytona represents the birth of the electric muscle car.
  2. Dodge’s first EV debuts with a two-door body style, standard all-wheel drive, and two trims: R/T with up to 496 horsepower and Scat Pack with up to 670 hp.
  3. The EV charger has a 400-volt architecture with a 93.9 kWh battery; Dodge targets a range of 317 miles for the R/T and 260 miles for the Scat Pack.

2024 Dodge Charger Design

When it comes to the appearance of the new 2024 Dodge Charger, Dodge has done something extraordinary by taking inspiration from the popular second generation (1968–1971), but also sticking so close to the concept revealed over a year ago that the production version is hiding in plain sight. Many of the signature details remain, such as the “R-Wing” that creates a through opening at the front to increase downforce. This is also exclusive to the Daytona model.

What is not exclusive to the electric Dodge Charger Daytona is the rear hatchback which makes it more practical. There are 23 cubic feet of cargo space behind the rear seats, and that increases to 37 cubes with the rear seats stowed. Plus, the fruit provides an additional 2 cubes. By comparison, the previous Charger offered 17 cubic feet of space in its trunk. Unlike its predecessor, the new Charger comes with either a two- or four-door single shock that is not marred by this concept.

Dodge says the 2024 Dodge Charger Daytona two- and four-door have a wheelbase of 121.0 inches, one inch longer than before. This two-door model measures 206.6 inches in overall length, 79.8 inches in width, and up to 59.0 inches in height. These dimensions make the new car approximately 5.5 inches longer, about 1.5 inches wider, and about an inch taller.

With a claimed curb weight of 5,838 pounds, the electric Charger is approximately 1,500 pounds heavier than its V-8 predecessor. However, we have to have it on our scales to verify it.

The interior of the 2024 Dodge Charger Daytona is also very similar to the concept. The dashboard features a freestanding display that includes a 10.3- or 16.0-inch digital gauge cluster and a 12.3-inch center touchscreen. The latter uses the familiar Uconnect5 software with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. There are also digital key options and smartphone apps that provide remote access to vehicle apps and functions.

While the Charger Daytona’s boxy steering wheel probably won’t appeal to everyone, we dig the return of the pistol grip-style shifter. Other available features include a head-up display, an 18-speaker Alpine sound system, a fixed panoramic sunroof, and ambient interior lighting billed as “Attitude Adjustment.”

The 2024 Dodge Charger R/T models are built with a mix of cloth and vinyl upholstery and front seats that differ from the leather-covered seats available with certain packages.

Dodge hasn’t said how much the 2024 Charger Daytona model will cost, but we expect the R/T’s base price will be above $60,000 when it goes on sale this fall. The cars will be built at the company’s Canadian factory in Windsor, Ontario. Both electric vehicles will only be eligible for US federal tax credits through lease incentives.

2024 Dodge Charger Interior

The 2024 Dodge Charger Daytona offers a choice of 10.3-inch or 16.0-inch instrument cluster displays. All versions come with a 12.3-inch infotainment screen. Like the exterior, interior designers sought to echo the style and feel of the original 1968 Charger. A modern interpretation of the classic Dodge “pistol grip” shifter resides in the center console, along with a start/power button and wireless phone charger.

2024 Dodge Charger

It’s a hatchback, even though it doesn’t look like it, and the rear seats fold flat to provide 38.5 cubic feet of storage space (23 cubes with the seats in place), which Dodge says is 133 percent more cargo volume than the previous one. Charger. A small trunk provides an additional 1.5 cubic feet of storage.

Infotainment and Connectivity

The 2024 Dodge Charger is also equipped with a 12.3-inch touchscreen providing access to Chrysler’s intuitive Uconnect 5 infotainment system, providing access to satellite radio, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Amazon Alexa, and navigation, including the new Charging Location Navigator feature for easy location charging station.

The new electric vehicle page shares power flow information, battery regeneration status, and charging status. The new digital lock app connects to your phone, and includes an NFC Smart Card for when you don’t have one. phone-free adventure. The free Dodge phone app allows remote monitoring of charge levels, charging schedule settings, and charging station locations.

Head-up display available; standard audio is a nine-speaker, 506-watt Alpine stereo with subwoofer; A premium 914-watt 18-speaker Alpine system with subwoofer is optional.

2024 Dodge Charger Engine EV Motor

Both 2024 Dodge Charger Daytona models use a 400V architecture with an integrated charging module and two electric motors, one front and one rear. A 100.5 kW nickel cobalt aluminum battery provides the power. Three levels of regeneration are available via wheel-mounted paddles, and a PowerShot button on the steering wheel provides a 15-second power boost of 40 hp, allowing them to access maximum output figures of 496 hp for the Daytona R/T and 670 for the Daytona Scat Package, respectively.

To make sure you don’t forget that this EV is a Dodge EV, optional features include Donut mode, Drift mode, Line Locks, and Launch control. The available Track Package features 20-inch alloy wheels with Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar 3 tires measuring 305/35ZR at the front and 325/35ZR at the rear.

The performance page returns, recording performance metrics with timing, gauges, g-forces, propulsion system information, and more, and logging them for the driver to review. There’s also a Drive Experience Recorder available that combines audio, video and vehicle data with inside and outside cameras to produce a first-person experience video that can be played inside the vehicle or externally.

Performance Chargers

The biggest hurdle Dodge faces is convincing its loyal fans and others that the electric Charger is the better Charger. Giving it a big horsepower increase is a good start. The last V-8-powered 2024 Dodge Charger R/T has a 370-hp 5.7-liter Hemi, and the Scat Pack has a 6.4-liter Hemi with 485 ponies. Even without the Power Shot, the electricity substitute still exceeds that power figure.

The electric charger will also be faster than its predecessor. Dodge claims the Daytona R/T will hit 60 mph in 4.7 seconds, and the Scat Pack model will do it in 3.3 seconds. At the drag strip, Dodge claims the duo will complete the quarter mile in 13.1 seconds and 11.5 seconds, respectively.

The 2019 Dodge Charger Scat Pack we tested hit 60 mph in 3.8 seconds and completed the quarter mile in 12.2 ticks at 115 mph. The EV’s top speed is the only disappointment, as the R/T is limited to 137 mph and the Scat Pack is limited to 134 mph.

Of course, electric cars are inherently faster thanks to their instantaneous torque. However, the speed is usually offset by equipment aimed at maximizing efficiency. Dodge did the opposite with the Charger Daytona, prioritizing performance-enhancing parts despite their impact on efficiency.

For example, not only is a set of standard 275-section wide tires, but the available Track Pack Scat Pack includes wider, stickier rubber, specifically Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar summer tires, sized 305/35ZR-20 up front and 325/35ZR- 20 back.

Dodge says all 2024 Dodge Charger Daytonas get the Track package’s upgraded Brembo brakes, which feature large 16.1-inch rotors all around. The two-piece front disc is clamped by a fixed six-piston caliper, and the rear is clamped by a four-piston unit.

The brake-by-wire system combines friction brakes with a regenerative system that produces three different levels of regen.

The 2024 Dodge Charger Daytona models also have a choice of driving modes, but the Scat Pack model gets the best. Along with launch control and line lock functions, the top trim has Drift and Donut modes, which are self-explanatory (so, yes, it can do proper burnouts).

There’s also a Race Prep mode for drag strips or race tracks, designed to heat or cool the battery depending on intended use. The Track Pack also includes a performance data recorder that allows users to log video and other data.

The big question about the new Charger that is probably on most people’s minds is, How does it sound? Your guess is as good as ours, because Dodge says it’s still perfecting its “Fratzonic Chamber Exhaust.”

Utilizing two passive radiators on this system provides real-time feedback (meaning you can play it) and is said to match the sound levels of the current Hellcat Charger, which is claimed to produce a thunderous 126 decibels. For those who don’t like the idea of a synthetic soundtrack, the Fratzonic setting can also be turned off with Stealth mode.

Range, Charging, and Battery Life

Range numbers have yet to be determined, but Dodge’s initial estimates peg the range of the 2024 Dodge Charger R/T at 317 miles and the Charger Scat Pack at 260 miles. Peak charging rate is 183 kW onboard charging is limited to 11 kW. Dodge claims the Charger can be recharged from 20 to 80 percent in just 27 minutes when connected to a CCS Level 3 DC fast charger.

The 350 kW fast charger is estimated to add charging times of about 9.9 miles per minute for the Daytona R/T and 8.1 miles per minute for the Daytona Scat Pack. Optional Level 2 charging units will be available from Dodge public charging credits can be used through Stellantis’ new Free2Move Charge EV charging program.

0–60-MPH Times

Dodge said the 2024 Dodge Charger claims a 3.3 second 60 mph time for the Daytona Scat Pack and estimates it will cover the quarter mile in 11.5 seconds. The R/T follows at 4.7 seconds to 60 mph and 13.4 seconds in the quarter mile. Top speeds are 137 and 134 mph, respectively.

2024 Dodge Charger Features

We really like the features that DOdge is bringing to the new 2024 Dodge Charger Daytona EV which will launch this summer with two-door R/T and Scat Pack models, with a four-door version following in 2025.

Dodge will also launch a gasoline Charger with a Hurricane I6 under the hood in 2025. The new Charger will mark the eighth generation of the historic Dodge nameplate.

1. ES and BEV power

Dodge is building the next-generation Charger with available internal combustion and battery-electric power sources. Separated by a Daytona badge, the two powerplants will share the same Charger platform.

The battery-electric side of Dodge’s new Charger sits under the Daytona badge and will be available in R/T and Scat Pack form at launch. Slated for 2025, Dodge will dub the internal combustion model the SixPack, a nod to the legendary triple-carburetor-equipped cars of the 1960s and 1970s. BEV and ICE models will be available in two- and four-door configurations.

2. New Chargers by the Numbers

Dodge’s new Charger in two-door 2024 Dodge Charger Daytona trim is 206.6 inches long and has a wheelbase of 121.0 inches. That means the wheelbase is slightly longer than the previous Charger, but the body is much longer. The new Charger is also 79.8 inches wide, if you don’t take into account the rearview mirror.

That measurement jumps to 84.3 inches if you include the all-important side mirrors. Weight limits for ICE and four-door models are still to come, but Dodge says the two-door Daytona EV model will weigh 5,838 pounds, which is a significant jump from the existing ICE-only model. Some of the extra weight comes from the Charger Daytona’s 100.5 kWh battery.

3. Two and Four Doors, Plus Hatchback

The eighth-generation Dodge Charger will come in two- and four-door models that share the same basic shell. The main sheet metal, like the top, remains essentially unchanged regardless of the number of doors.

Still, Dodge will launch the two-door Daytona model first, but the four-door is expected early next year. Two- and four-door models will come with a rear hatch, which makes loading larger items into the cargo area easier.

4. Dodge Stage Equipment

Dodge launched the Charger Daytona EV model with a pair of performance upgrades from Direct Connection. The first stage kit will be used on the base model Charger Daytona R/T, while the second stage kit will be used on the more powerful Charger Daytona Scat Pack.

For the R/T, this adds 40 hp to the base model’s 456 ponies, bringing total system output up to 496 hp. The Scat Pack second-stage system adds 80 hp, bringing total system output to 670 hp. If you missed this first year Charger Daytona model, this upgrade kit will be available through Dodge’s Direct Connection catalog.

5. PowerShot Dodge

Dodge’s PowerShot system debuted on the Dodge Hornet, and is similar to the push-to-pass button in IndyCar. This adds a little extra drag to the giddy Charger, which means another 40 hp for the Charger Daytona.

Of course, Dodge advertises its output figures to include PowerShot, but that means for 15 seconds you’ll be able to get all the power out of your battery-electric Charger.

Safety

The 2024 Dodge Charger features a comprehensive list of standard and optional safety and driver assistance technologies, regardless of powertrain. In addition to the usual standard equipment such as forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, and lane keeping assist, it also includes “vulnerable road user detection,” a technology device commonly used for pedestrians and cyclists.

Key safety features include:

  • Standard automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection
  • Adaptive cruise control is a standard
  • A camera-based parking assistance feature is available

2024 Dodge Charger Colors

Many Kent drivers have eagerly awaited the debut of the 2024 Dodge Charger. Unfortunately, Dodge chose to delay this beloved vehicle for unclear reasons, with delivery projected in late 2024.

However, for those who are still determined to get a new Charger, the 2023 model offers a wealth of color selections that will amaze any Cleveland potential Charger owner. Let’s look at the various hues offered at the Valley Motor City showroom. You may not obtain the 2024 Dodge Charger colors you want, but the 2023 is equally spectacular.

As previously said, you will need to select a 2023 Dodge Charger, although there are plenty of color possibilities. After choosing a trim and performance package, one of the most difficult processes is deciding on the ideal color.

For starters, the Dodge Charger comes in five neutral colors that may fit almost any interior:

  • Pitch Black: Pairs well with black upholstery or black Nappa leather seats.
  • Granite is a dark, uniform gray color that appears multi-dimensional due to the sun’s reflection.
  • Destroyer Gray: This powerful hue seems like it was designed to lead a group of muscle vehicles, giving the Charger an air of unrivaled power.
  • Triple Nickel: This brilliant, bright color resembles a freshly struck coin, yet it has a sandy undertone. This hue is great for hiding dirt and even minor scratches.
  • White Knuckle: This warm white color is a few shades lighter than eggshell white.

Looking for something a little bolder? Don’t worry, there are plenty more possibilities that are a little more unique:

  • B5 Blue: This is one of the older paint colors for the Dodge muscle car, giving off a vivid blue shine in the sun.
  • Frostbite: This deeper, darker powder blue is more reserved than the B5 choice.
  • Plum Crazy: This is another historical Charger hue, and you’ve definitely seen this shade of purple on Chargers before.
  • Octane Red: This wine-colored red is one of the deepest colors available.
  • TorRed: This is a vivid red with touches of orange.
  • Go Mango: This is comparable to what most Cleveland drivers would call “pumpkin orange.”
  • Sinamon Stick: Kent drivers appreciate the orange-brown color that reminds them of autumn leaves and other fall colors.
  • Sublime: This is the third classic Charger color, a vibrant lime that stands out no matter where you drive.
  • F8 Green: This is in between forest and olive green.

2024 Dodge Charger Price

Prices for the 2024 Dodge Charger Daytona EV are expected to start around $50,000 and go up to $60,000 depending on trim and options.

Pricing isn’t available yet, but considering the base model Charger needs to maintain its fairly broad appeal, we’re guessing the starting price will be a bit lower than $50,000. The Charger Scat Pack will be priced at a premium, and we expect it to cost around $60,000.

If the Scat Pack is the best EV Charger, we’ll revise those price estimates northward, but our intel suggests those rights are reserved for the upcoming Charger Banshee; estimates that version will hit the $100,000 mark and its power output will reach around 1,000 horsepower.

At this point, though, we recommend the Charger Scat Pack because its additional 274 hp is a bargain at that price. Also worth noting, buyers of the 2024 model receive a Direct Connection Stage 1 upgrade kit that adds 40 horsepower (Charger Daytona R/T) or a Stage 2 kit that adds 80 horsepower (Charger Daytona Scat Pack), as standard.

Both will be options in the next model year, meaning the base R/T will come with 456 horsepower and the standard Scat Pack will make 590 horsepower.

  • Daytona R/T $50,000 (estimated)
  • Package Scat Daytona $60,000 (estimated)

2024 Dodge Charger Release Date

As far as we currently know the 2024 Dodge Charger Daytona EV will launch this summer in two-door R/T and Scat Pack models, with a four-door version following in 2025.

Verdict

After 13 years, the Dodge Charger is finally getting a thorough redesign for the 2024 model year. The 2018 Charger Daytona ushers in a new era for Dodge, as its wildly successful muscle vehicles drive forth into unexplored electrified terrain. It remains to be seen whether this shakes up its devoted fan base.

This eighth-generation Charger is completely redesigned from the ground up and is available in two and four-door configurations. It will be available exclusively as an EV for a few months before Dodge introduces its inline-six engine next year. We expect more powerful versions to follow, including the high-output Charger SRT Banshee. And if Dodge follows its typical course, we should see this Charger on the road for many years to come.

We can’t accuse Dodge of making little changes this time around; the new Charger is a significant departure from its predecessor. With competitors like the Mustang sticking to their traditional roots, we’re curious to see if Dodge’s flagship muscle car will benefit from the new all-electric recipe.

This time we also present an interesting video from our partner Edmunds Cars which has succeeded in giving us insight into the ALL-NEW 2024 Dodge Charger Daytona. In this 7:44-second video, we will find out
The 2024 Dodge Charger Daytona has been completely reborn, swapping its roaring V8 engine for electric power or an inline-six. While we’re sad to see the loss of the V8, there’s a lot to like about the new Charger Daytona, from its (finally) extensively modernized interior to its surprising EPA-estimated range.

Previous Part

2024 Dodge Charger out with the old and in with the new: Dodge replaced all current internal combustion chassis in the 2024 model year. This includes the Dodge Charger, which has been using essentially the same platform since 2006. Rumor has it that the next-generation Charger is very much like a car. a forgotten concept from 1999.

Dodge shuts down its Charger 2024 meeting. CEO Tim Kuniskis simply said that the brand will stop making the current Charger in 2024.

Discussing the future of Dodge’s muscle, Kuniskis said, “If chargers can make Chargers faster, we’re on board.” He also teased the silhouette of at least one of Dodge’s generation eMuscle cars.

Will any of them wear the Charger badge? The name seems too perfect for electrification – whether a plug-in hybrid or a full-battery electric vehicle – for Dodge to pass up. But the actual drivetrain and appearance of the 2024 Charger remain a closely guarded secret.

Dodge CEO Tim Kuniskis recently confirmed to Motor Authority that the Charger and Challenger—and their Hellcat engines—will cease production in 2024. Motor Trend, who also spoke to Kuniskis, offered more details on the three new Dodge vehicles that will replace it.

Dodge will launch an electric muscle car in 2024, and the American brand has revealed more information about it during its Stellantis Dare Forward 2030 presentation. It seems that the first electric muscle car, at least, the first from Dodge, will overlap with existing vehicles on sale when it appears. , instead of directly replacing it. This is a confirmation of the previous information, but it still counts.

2024 Dodge Charger

Unlike other future vehicles, Dodge’s upcoming electric muscle car isn’t mocked in sketch form, like the 2024 Ram 1500 EV, or presented in concept form, as was the case with the first electric Jeep.

Instead, we have an image posted by Stellantis on Twitter revealing the fact that Dodge will be launching an electric performance muscle car in 2024 as part of the BEV group launch in the US, which involves an Electric Battery Version for every newly launched vehicle from 2024 onwards.

So yes, Dodge’s electric muscle car is reconfirmed, and it looks like Chrysler will also get one or more “lifestyle family cars,” as the plans reveal. Keep in mind, that this is only the first BEV to arrive in the range. Every vehicle in the US Stellantis group lineup will get an electric version once it gets a new generation or direct replacement that will roll out from 2024.

Dodge Charger Concept

Kuniskis confirmed to Motor Trend that Dodge will unveil its electric muscle car concept no later than the second quarter of 2022. It will run on Stellantis’ new “STLA large EV” platform, one of four electric vehicle platforms the conglomerate is reportedly developing – and which will supposedly offer a range of up to 500 miles.

Fratzog Symbol On Dodge EVs. Dodge also teased us with the Fratzog name and logo (above). The name Fratzog was coined—meaningless when it was first used in the early ’60s to describe a logo. “It still means absolutely nothing and has no relevance or significance to why we’re using it right now,” Kuniskis said. But, backlit and in 3D, it “looks cool and high-tech and modern and looks like it represents electrification.”

The Fratzog symbol will be on electrified vehicles, a subtle way to tell them apart, like the slash representing Dodge. Those in the know will recognize the red triangle symbol.

Fratzog won’t be a sub-brand or even a trim level, and most likely won’t be part of the vehicle’s name.

2024 Dodge Charger

New Dodge Charger Electric

Ultimately, Stellantis will have more than 25 Electric Vehicle Batteries in its US product portfolio by 2030. Some of these have been confirmed previously, while others are just starting to be included in plans as something to come, without going into too much detail.

Well, in the case of an electric muscle car from Dodge, we already know it will be able to burn out, despite having an all-wheel-drive configuration. Donuts are also possible, as explained by Tim Kuniskis, head of the Dodge brand a few months ago.

Reportedly this time Dodge has developed a special sound for electric muscle cars. It seems that potential customers are being asked about such vehicles, and sound is mentioned as an important component, as is the ability to do donuts and burnouts.

Depending on how the vehicle will be used, engineers are also considering making the sound louder or louder, by mimicking the experience in a conventional muscle car.

Next-Gen Dodge Charger Hybrid

Dodge will also launch a plug-in hybrid soon, and go into production at the end of 2022. The report says it will be a new vehicle – not the current-generation Durango sporting a Jeep Wrangler 4xe powertrain. There’s no word from Motor Trend whether it will still use the machine (though that’s logical, given the timeframe).
