2024 Dodge Charger out with the old and in with the new: Dodge replaced all current internal combustion chassis in the 2024 model year. This includes the Dodge Charger, which has been using essentially the same platform since 2006. Rumor has it that the next-generation Charger is very much like a car. a forgotten concept from 1999.
Dodge shuts down its Charger 2024 meeting. CEO Tim Kuniskis simply said that the brand will stop making the current Charger in 2024.
Discussing the future of Dodge’s muscle, Kuniskis said, “If chargers can make Chargers faster, we’re on board.” He also teased the silhouette of at least one of Dodge’s generation eMuscle cars.
Will any of them wear the Charger badge? The name seems too perfect for electrification – whether a plug-in hybrid or a full battery electric vehicle – for Dodge to pass up. But the actual drivetrain and appearance of the 2024 Charger remain a closely guarded secret.
Dodge CEO Tim Kuniskis recently confirmed to Motor Authority that the Charger and Challenger—and their Hellcat engines—will cease production in 2024. Motor Trend, who also spoke to Kuniskis, offered more details on the three new Dodge vehicles that will replace it.
2024 Dodge Charger Review
Dodge will launch an electric muscle car in 2024, and the American brand has revealed more information about it during its Stellantis Dare Forward 2030 presentation. It seems that the first electric muscle car, at least, the first from Dodge, will overlap with existing vehicles on sale when it appears. , instead of directly replacing it. This is a confirmation of the previous information, but it still counts.
Unlike other future vehicles, Dodge’s upcoming electric muscle car isn’t mocked in sketch form, like the 2024 Ram 1500 EV, or presented in concept form, as was the case with the first electric Jeep.
Instead, we have an image posted by Stellantis on Twitter revealing the fact that Dodge will be launching an electric performance muscle car in 2024 as part of the BEV group launch in the US, which involves an Electric Battery Version for every newly launched vehicle from 2024 onwards.
So yes, Dodge’s electric muscle car is reconfirmed, and it looks like Chrysler will also get one or more “lifestyle family cars,” as the plans reveal. Keep in mind, that this is only the first BEV to arrive in the range. Every vehicle in the US Stellantis group lineup will get an electric version once it gets a new generation or direct replacement that will roll out from 2024.
Dodge Charger Concept
Kuniskis confirmed to Motor Trend that Dodge will unveil its electric muscle car concept no later than the second quarter of 2022. It will run on Stellantis’ new “STLA large EV” platform, one of four electric vehicle platforms the conglomerate is reportedly developing – and which will supposedly offer a range of up to 500 miles.
Fratzog Symbol On Dodge EVs. Dodge also teased us with the Fratzog name and logo (above). The name Fratzog was coined—meaningless when it was first used in the early ’60s to describe a logo. “It still means absolutely nothing and has no relevance or significance to why we’re using it right now,” Kuniskis said. But, backlit and in 3D, it “looks cool and high-tech and modern and looks like it represents electrification.”
The Fratzog symbol will be on electrified vehicles, a subtle way to tell them apart, like the slash representing Dodge. Those in the know will recognize the red triangle symbol.
Fratzog won’t be a sub-brand or even a trim level, and most likely won’t be part of the vehicle’s name.
New Dodge Charger Electric
Ultimately, Stellantis will have more than 25 Electric Vehicle Batteries in its US product portfolio by 2030. Some of these have been confirmed previously, while others are just starting to be included in plans as something to come, without going into too much detail.
Well, in the case of an electric muscle car from Dodge, we already know it will be able to burn out, despite having an all-wheel-drive configuration. Donuts are also possible, as explained by Tim Kuniskis, head of the Dodge brand a few months ago.
Reportedly this time Dodge has developed a special sound for electric muscle cars. It seems that potential customers are being asked about such vehicles, and sound is mentioned as an important component, as is the ability to do donuts and burnouts.
Depending on how the vehicle will be used, engineers are also considering making the sound louder or louder, by mimicking the experience in a conventional muscle car.
Next-Gen Dodge Charger Hybrid
Dodge will also launch a plug-in hybrid soon, and go into production at the end of 2022. The report says it will be a new vehicle – not the current-generation Durango sporting a Jeep Wrangler 4xe powertrain. There’s no word from Motor Trend whether it will still use the machine (though that’s logical, given the timeframe).
2024 Dodge Charger Price
There’s no official pricing for the 2024 Dodge Charger yet, but we estimate that the base model will have an MSRP of around $33,000. Opting for the all-wheel-drive version will raise the price by about $3,000 or so.
The high-end Hellcat charger will cost significantly more than the high-end model can sell for up to $84,000.
2024 Dodge Charger Release Date
There has been no official statement regarding this. It’s likely Dodge will start taking orders for the October Charge and production is slated to start in December as before. However, estimates the release date is around early 2024.
