2027 RAM 1500 is not inferior to kWhen Ram boss Tim Kuniskis was asked if the Trump administration’s fuel-efficiency policies would spark a revival of the legendary TRX pickup, his answer was simple: “I would.”

Updates (March 16, 2026): We’ve just updated the latest on the return of the HEMI V8, and it continues with the comeback of the Ram 1500 TRX for 2027. This generation of the Ram 1500 is clearly nearing the end of its cycle, but the TRX’s return suggests it may stick around a bit longer—likely a year or two—before an all-new full-size Ram arrives. Estimated Price: $44,620–$91,395.

And why not? Fuel economy, no matter what, who doesn’t love a supercharged pickup truck that’s fierce and capable of jumping over sand dunes? The Ford F-150 Raptor R can’t have all the fun alone.

The 2027 Ram 1500 SRT TRX, now officially part of Stellantis’ SRT performance division, is back with a few new tricks. For starters, the supercharged 6.2-liter Hellcat V8 gets a significant power boost, now producing 777 horsepower and 680 lb-ft of torque, up from 702 hp and 650 lb-ft.

Ram says this will get its monster truck to 60 mph in just 3.5 seconds, which is 0.7 seconds quicker than the last TRX we tested.

2027 RAM 1500 Review

The Hemi V-8 engine’s resurgence continues with the return of the Ram 1500 TRX supertruck for 2027. This generation of Ram 1500s is due for a replacement, but the TRX’s return makes us think it will last another year or two before a new generation of Ram full-size pickup trucks arrives.

2027 RAM 1500

Here’s our estimate of what you can expect from the 2027 Ram 1500, including and beyond the TRX variant.

  • The TRX is back
  • Excellent I-6, rumbly V-8
  • Many configurations to choose from
  • The TRX, Ram’s largest and most powerful 1500 half-ton pickup, is back.
  • The TRX uses a supercharged Hellcat V8 engine, which now produces 777 horsepower and 680 lb-ft of torque.
  • Ram says the new TRX will hit 60 mph in 3.5 seconds.

What’s New

Aside from the reintroduced TRX, the 2027 Ram 1500 will likely remain largely the same as 2026, barring a new special edition or two debuting.

What We Think

With good handling, work-ready features, plenty of technology, and several powerful engine options, the Ram 1500 is a great full-size pickup truck regardless of configuration, at least for now.

Ride comfort isn’t a top priority for truck drivers, but the Ram 1500 delivers. The ride quality is comfortable and the steering is responsive, although the brake pedal feels a bit unresponsive.

Above the standard, less powerful V-6, there are the Hurricane turbocharged I-6 and the Hemi V-8, both of which have their own appeal: the smooth power of the Hurricane, and the classic performance of the Hemi.

The Ram’s cabin impresses with its large digital displays and quality construction; higher-end versions are truly luxurious. The tech features are adequate, but the Ram needs to catch up with Ford and Chevrolet in the hands-free driving competition.

Truck enthusiasts will be delighted that the TRX is back, reversing the trend away from the prospect of an all-electric future. However, major updates to its closest competitor, the Ram 1500, mean it will need an immediate redesign to remain competitive. Until then, it remains a solid choice.

What We Expect

RAM has confirmed the return of the 1500 TRX pickup truck for the 2027 model year. While we know that this high-performance off-road vehicle will return for 2027, we don’t yet know what RAM has in store for the rest of the RAM 1500 lineup. We expect that the rest of the 2027 RAM 1500 lineup will be the same models as last year.

The 2027 RAM 1500 lineup is expected to share the same exterior design as the current RAM 1500. The new RAM 1500 TRX features a much more rugged design than any other RAM 1500 available.

This pickup truck features 11.8 inches of ground clearance, 18-inch wheels, available 18-inch beadlock wheels, a Flame Red grille, functional hood vents, darkened LED headlights and taillights, Flame Red tow hooks, black dual exhaust tips, and a steel rear bumper. All of the TRX’s upgrades help it tackle tough terrain at high speeds.

RAM is not expected to make any changes to the 1500’s interior design for the 2027 model year. The new 2027 RAM 1500 TRX features a luxurious interior with premium materials and high-end comfort features. The truck features Natura Plus leather seats with suede inserts, red contrast stitching, red seatbelts, leather-wrapped airbag covers, and a full suede headliner. Sportier touches inside the TRX include carbon fiber interior trim, a cast metal shift lever, and aluminum paddle shifters.

When it comes to tech features, the 2027 RAM 1500 should come with the same tech features as the current model. Current tech features on the RAM 1500 include an 8.4-inch touchscreen, six-speaker audio, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, a Wi-Fi hotspot, multiple USB ports, and Bluetooth.

RAM 1500 2027

People who love trucks and work in the car business have been asking the same question for years: When will Ram bring back their midsize pickup truck? We finally have a clear explanation, thanks to Antonio Filosa, the CEO of Stellantis. Filosa stated in a casual conversation at the Kepler Cheuvreux Fall Conference on Thursday that Ram’s much anticipated midsize truck will officially be available in 2027.

2027 Dodge RAM 3500

This is a big step forward for Ram because it fills a hole in the lineup that has been there since the Dodge Dakota went out of production in 2011. This is the first time Stellantis leaders have given a clear schedule for the new pickup, even though there have been whispers about it for years. Filosa says that this truck isn’t just arriving; it’s going to make a statement.

A Look Behind the Curtain

Filosa said that he had the chance to see more than just the truck’s sketches recently. “I saw the truck in person two weeks ago at our design center in Detroit. I saw the sketches and designs as well as the clay model,” he stated. “And it was so pretty.”

He even joked with investors, telling them to come to Detroit to witness it for themselves, but they couldn’t bring their phones or cameras. He quipped, “If you want to come to Detroit, we’ll show you without phones and cameras, and you’ll be amazed.” This level of confidence shows how crucial this car is to Ram’s future.

Filling the Gap Left by the Classic Ram 1500

The Ram 1500 Classic will no longer be made after October 2024. This means that Ram won’t have any trucks that are truly economical around $40,000. This leaves a big hole in the lineup, especially as the costs of full-size pickups are going up.

Tim Kuniskis, the CEO of Ram, has said that this new midsize truck will be a spiritual successor to the Classic. It will be a cheap way for people to get into the Ram brand. This midrange alternative is perfect for anyone who can’t afford a new Ram 1500 right now.

The Right Way to Build: Body-on-Frame

During its EV Day presentation in 2021, Stellantis shocked a lot of people by saying that its midsize truck would employ a unibody chassis like the STLA Large. People who buy regular trucks didn’t like this notion since they want trucks that are really tough and useful.

MoparInsiders.com has now confirmed through its sources that Ram’s midsize truck will have a body-on-frame (BoF) architecture, which is the same strong base that the Ford Ranger, Chevrolet Colorado, and Toyota Tacoma use. This choice makes sure that Ram will be a strong competitor in this market, instead of following in the footsteps of the Honda Ridgeline, which is a lifestyle truck.

Where will it be built?

Stellantis first said that the truck will be made at the Belvidere Assembly Plant in Illinois, which had never been used before. But there are murmurs in the industry that a final decision hasn’t been made yet. The Toledo plant, which makes the Jeep® Wrangler and Gladiator, or even Warren Truck, which isn’t using all of its BoF capability, are other options.

If production moves out of Belvidere, Stellantis will have more options because the plant will be able to make unibody vehicles. But Belvidere is still a good possibility, especially because the present administration is focused on making cars in the US.

Lessons from the Past and a Look Ahead

Dodge had a hard time selling the Dakota last time because it was too big and too expensive compared to the Ram 1500. People thought it was a better deal to upgrade to a full-size truck with a HEMI® engine. But things have changed. The average price of a half-ton pickup truck has gone through the roof, so there is now room for a mid-size truck that is reasonable, useful, and still feels like a “Ram.”

Filosa and Kuniskis realized they had to find the appropriate amount. The new Ram pickup may be a wonderful alternative if it costs the same as the Ford Ranger, which starts at $33,330 and goes up to $56,070 for the high-performance Raptor. If it were put in the right place, it wouldn’t hurt sales of the 1,500 units; instead, it would bring in new customers who had been waiting for a low-cost Ram.

How about the Dakota Tribe in South America?

Ram has also stated that a new Dakota midsize truck will be made in Argentina starting later this year. This is even more fascinating. But don’t get your hopes up; it won’t be coming to the US.

The South American Dakota is made on the same production line as the Fiat Titano and is made just for that market. The crazy “Nightfall” concept version, which had off-road parts including FOX™ shocks, skid plates, beadlock wheels, and a spare tire on the truck, even came out in Brazil. It’s a tough truck, but Americans don’t want it.

On the other hand, the North American midsize Ram will be bigger, made in the US, and built to fit the needs of this market. It is yet unclear if it will bring back the Dakota name or go in a new way, but one thing is for sure: it will be its own truck.

Why This Truck Matters

The midsize Ram isn’t just another model for Stellantis; it’s a key part of the puzzle. Ram might lose budget-conscious customers to Ford, GM, Toyota, and Nissan if they don’t make a vehicle that costs less than $40,000. And since the pickup truck market is getting more and more competitive, Ram can’t afford to stay still.

Filosa’s promise to launch in 2027 makes it apparent that Ram is ready to come back to the midsize truck market with a real truck that is designed well and priced competitively. Ram could be ready for a big comeback if the clay model Filosa saw is as good as he says it is.

2027 RAM 1500 Specs

The 2027 RAM 1500 is expected to continue offering a variety of engine options. The base engine is expected to be a 3.6-liter V6 with 306 horsepower. A 3.0-liter turbocharged six-cylinder engine producing 420 hp will also be available.

A high-power turbocharged version of the engine is also expected to be available, producing 540 hp. RAM is bringing back the 5.7-liter V8 for the 2026 model year, with 395 hp.

For 2027, the RAM 1500 TRX returns with a supercharged 6.2-liter V8 engine. This engine produces 777 horsepower and 680 pound-feet of torque. All-wheel drive is standard for the TRX. All versions of the RAM 1500 are equipped with an eight-speed automatic transmission.

2027 RAM Power Wagon

The 2027 Ram Power Wagon Will Get a Cummins Turbodiesel Engine. The Ram Power Wagon will get incredible torque and even better off-road capabilities when the 2027 model arrives in the second half of 2026, but it will come at a hefty price: Prices start at $88,470, including delivery.

That’s about $15,000 more than the base 2026 Power Wagon with a gasoline engine. (All Power Wagons are available only in 4×4 and Crew Cab configurations with a 6-foot-4-inch pickup truck bed.) Is the extra price worth it? Absolutely.

2027 Dodge RAM 3500

Get ready—and your trailer—for 1,075 lb-ft of torque from the new Cummins High-Output 6.7-liter inline-six turbodiesel engine. This engine also produces 430 hp.

For the first time, the diesel Power Wagon can be ordered with a fifth-wheel/gooseneck trailer setup and a height-adjustable automatic rear air suspension that maintains a level position under heavy loads and features a bed-lowering mode for easy trailer hookup.

The truck also features a 3.42:1 rear axle ratio paired with an eight-speed TorqueFlite HD automatic transmission. With a 31-gallon fuel tank, the Ram can travel up to 600 miles between refuelings.

Ram says the new diesel-powered Power Wagon has a towing capacity of nearly 20,000 pounds, along with a payload capacity of 3,000 pounds. So, feel free to haul as many rocks as you want.

Add the Towing Technology Group and you’ll get: an LED third brake light with a cargo view camera, a 360-degree surround-view camera system, trailer reverse guidance, and a trailer tire pressure monitoring system. Furthermore, the Technology Plus Group gives you a 3.0 digital rearview mirror and trailer reverse steering control.

2027 Dodge RAM 3500

But this isn’t just a tow truck. Ram reminds us that the 2027 Power Wagon with the Cummins turbodiesel retains its title as the most capable off-road full-size pickup on the market with electronic front and rear locking differentials, Bilstein shocks, extensive underbody protection, a class-exclusive five-link coil-over rear suspension, hill descent control, Mopar accessory rocker rails, and a class-exclusive removable front stabilizer bar.

You may remember that the last Dodge/Ram pickup truck to use a Cummins diesel engine was the 1989–1993 model year. That massive vehicle featured a severed goat’s head mounted on its roof. Okay, it was a cast aluminum ram’s head, but it was still impressive.

  • The Ram Power Wagon will get a new Cummins turbodiesel engine option for 2027.
  • This engine produces 1075 lb-ft of torque—enough to tow up to nearly 20,000 pounds.
  • It will be priced at $88,470 when it launches in the second half of this year.

Features

The Power Wagon features standard all-wheel drive, and the Cummins engine is mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission and a 3.42 rear axle ratio. Ram claims this configuration can tow up to nearly 20,000 pounds with the newly available gooseneck fifth-wheel hitch. The HD off-roader can also now be equipped with a self-leveling rear suspension.

As before, it rides on 35-inch all-terrain tires, and if the 13.2 inches of ground clearance weren’t enough, the Power Wagon’s undercarriage is protected by a steel armor plate. Other notable hardware on the truck includes a removable front anti-roll bar for better articulation and electronically locking front and rear differentials.

2027 Ram TRX

The TRX is a truck icon and brought more fan attention to the Ram 1500 than ever before. Fans cried foul when Ram canceled the TRX, especially since the manufacturer had indicated its inclination toward electrification. Ram introduced the sleek Ram RHO as a replacement, but it wasn’t the same.

Ram is known for its luxurious interiors, and the new 2027 Ram 1500 SRT TRX is no exception.

A lot has changed since then, and for 2027, Ram is fulfilling everyone’s wish: They’re bringing back the TRX. Even better, its supercharged 6.2-liter V-8 engine is more powerful, now producing 777 hp and 680 lb-ft of torque. An interesting addition to the aging truck base, the 2027 TRX could be the Ram 1500’s final appearance before the next generation arrives.

TRX off-roading

Straight-line speed isn’t the TRX’s strong suit; this truck is all about extreme off-road capability. To that end, the TRX gets new Bilstein adaptive shocks with 13 inches and 14 inches of suspension travel (front and rear), as well as 35-inch all-terrain tires wrapped around 18-inch wheels. Can you jump sand dunes? Absolutely.

As before, the Ram 1500 SRT TRX should be comfortable for everyday use thanks to comfort features like heated and ventilated seats for all passengers, as well as massaging seats for the driver and passenger. There’s carbon fiber trim throughout the cabin, plus a Harman Kardon stereo for truly exhilarating music.

A comprehensive suite of technologies is also included. There’s a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 10-inch head-up display in front of the driver, as well as a 14.5-inch center multimedia touchscreen. The TRX also features Ram’s hands-free highway driving assistant, a technology we loved so much in the Ram 1500 Limited that was part of our One-Year Road Test fleet.

You can order the Ram TRX in a subdued monochrome look, like the green truck pictured above. But Ram will also sell a version called the Bloodshot Night Edition (seriously!), which features a two-tone red and black look with all the crazy exterior badging you could possibly want and need.

2027 RAM 1500 REV

Just when the all-electric pickup truck segment seems to be fading, Ram is ready to launch an electrified version of its 1500 pickup truck, the Ram 1500 REV. Unlike other electrified pickup trucks on sale, the upcoming 2027 1500 REV is unique – it’s an extended-range electric vehicle, not a hybrid, plug-in hybrid, or EV.

2027 RAM 1500 REV First Look

The 1500 REV’s unique drivetrain will be its main draw, promising up to 663 horsepower, a range of up to 690 miles on a full tank of gas and a full battery, and a towing capacity of up to 14,000 pounds. The 2027 Ram 1500 REV is expected to go on sale before the end of 2026. It’s expected to be available in three trim levels and start at around $65,000.

The Ram 1500 REV will be a variant of the Ram 1500, which is (currently) the smallest pickup truck in the Ram lineup, slotting below the heavy-duty 2500 and 3500 models. Within the Ram 1500 family, the new 1500 REV will sit above the 1500 and 1500 RHO, but below the 1500 SRT TRX.

Features

The next-generation Ram 1500 REV will be introduced in 2027 as an all-new model and expansion of the Ram 1500 trim lineup.

Most Ram 1500 REVs will have seating for up to five people, with options for up to six people expected to be available. The Ram 1500 REV will come with an electric drivetrain that works similarly to a plug-in hybrid.

The pickup truck will feature a 3.6-liter V6 engine powering an on-board 130-kW generator that supplies electricity to a 92-kWh battery pack. The battery pack powers two electric motors that drive the wheels. With a fully charged battery pack, the 1500 REV has an all-electric range of up to 145 miles, while its 27-gallon fuel tank increases the total range to 690 miles.

The Ram 1500 REV will be available with a 12-inch digital instrument panel, a 14.5-inch center touchscreen, a 10.25-inch passenger touchscreen, navigation, Bluetooth, a 23-speaker Klipsch audio system, leather upholstery, 24-way power-adjustable front seats, massage front seats, heated and ventilated front seats, a head-up display, two wireless charging pads, adaptive dampers, and an air suspension.

Safety features on the Ram 1500 REV will include a driver attention monitor, traffic sign recognition, lane keeping assist, lane departure warning, automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection, forward collision warning, rear cross traffic alert, and blind spot monitoring.

As a full-size pickup truck, the Ram 1500 REV is expected to feature a spacious cabin with two rows of comfortable seating. Higher 1500 REV trims feature luxurious touches, while the truck’s technology features create a modern design. The 1500 REV will be available in a double cab body style with a 5-foot-6-inch bed.

  • Standard plug-in hybrid engine.
  • Up to 647 horsepower.
  • Acceleration from 0 to 60 mph in 4.5 seconds.
  • Towing capacity up to 14,000 pounds.
  • Payload capacity 2,625 pounds.
  • Total range up to 690 miles.

2027 Dodge RAM 3500 Interior

The Power Wagon’s interior remains spacious and comes standard with heated front seats. Of course, buyers can opt for a pair of leather-trimmed bucket seats with heated and ventilated bolsters. Ram also offers a variety of interior options, including a larger 14.5-inch Uconnect 5 touchscreen, a passenger-side display, additional leather surfaces, and a 17-speaker Harman Kardon stereo.

2027 RAM 1500

Cabin

Unlike some of its competitors, the 2027 Ram 1500 doesn’t offer a two-door regular cab. Instead, there’s a Quad Cab with smaller rear doors, or a Crew Cab with larger rear doors and more second-row space.

Likewise, the Ram 1500 doesn’t have a true long bed option, like some of its competitors. The two bed lengths are 67.4 or 76.3 inches, both with a maximum width of 66.4 inches.

Payload

A maximum towing capacity of 11,550 pounds is achieved in some configurations with the SO Hurricane I-6. This figure is slightly higher than the Hemi V-8, which can tow up to 11,470 pounds. The HO Hurricane can tow up to 9,920 pounds, and the standard V-6 can tow 8,110 pounds.

Maximum payload capacity is 2,370 pounds with the V-6 engine. With the Hurricane SO, it’s 1,980 pounds; with the Hurricane HO, it’s 1,520 pounds; and with the V-8, it’s 1,750 pounds.

Tech

The 2027 Ram 1500 will likely be equipped with an 8.4-inch infotainment touchscreen at the base level. A 12.0- or 14.5-inch touchscreen will be added to higher trims. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard regardless of the screen size.

2027 RAM 1500

There’s a small 3.5-inch instrument panel display on the base model, while mid-range trucks get a 7.0-inch unit, and high-end models have a 12.0-inch fully digital instrument panel. Multiple USB ports are shared between both rows of seats, and up to two wireless charging pads are available.

The standard truck has a six-speaker audio system. Mid-range models get a nine-speaker system. For premium sound, Ram offers a 19-speaker Harman Kardon system, or a 23-speaker Klipsch system on higher-end trucks.

Technology options on the 2027 Ram 1500 are expected to include a 360-degree camera, a digital rearview mirror, and a 10.3-inch touchscreen for the front passenger. Mobile phone auto-lock functionality is also available.

2027 RAM 1500 Engine

Every Ram 1500 uses an eight-speed automatic transmission. Depending on the configuration, it comes with either rear-wheel drive (RWD) or all-wheel drive (4WD).

The standard Ram 1500 uses a 3.6-liter mild-hybrid V-6 engine, which produces 305 hp and 271 lb-ft of torque. A Ram 1500 with this engine accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in 8.1 seconds.

The optional Hurricane 3.0-liter turbocharged I-6 engine is available in two powertrain configurations. The standard (SO) configuration produces 420 hp and 469 lb-ft of torque, capable of reaching 0–60 mph in approximately 5.0 seconds.

In high-power (HO) configuration, the Hurricane produces 540 hp and 521 lb-ft of torque, which cuts the 0–60 mph acceleration time to about 4.5 seconds.

Ram recently reintroduced the 5.7-liter Hemi V-8 engine with mild-hybrid assistance. It produces just 395 hp and 410 lb-ft, significantly lower than the Hurricane, but at least it sounds good and achieves a 0-60 mph time of 6.1 seconds.

2027 Dodge RAM 3500 Cummins 7.2L

While the displacement increase to 7.2 liters is the headline news, the architecture under the hood may feel very familiar. Dodge has confirmed that the 2027 Cummins will continue to utilize a modular emissions strategy. This means you’ll still see three main components:

  • Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR)
  • Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF)
  • Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF)

The good news for repair shops and enthusiasts is that this system will remain modular and easy to install, similar to the current Cummins 6.7L platform. Continuity is key here, and with AP Emissions Technologies remaining the primary manufacturer for these components, we can expect a relatively smooth transition in terms of hardware reliability and replacement parts.

2027 Dodge RAM 3500

Additionally, cold start management is significantly improved with the integration of advanced glow plug technology. “By reducing start-up time, this enhancement ensures reliable vehicle operation even in the harshest and most extreme weather conditions,” Cummins said.

Inside, Ram calls it “premium materials and craftsmanship,” 24-way power massaging seats, and a 14.5-inch Uconnect 5 touchscreen infotainment system. However, you can also get heated cloth seats if you don’t need all those comfort features.

2027 RAM 1500 MPG

Fuel consumption for the 3.6-liter V-6 engine is estimated at 19–20/24–26 mpg (miles per gallon) city/highway, depending on the truck’s configuration. Range on a full tank of gas varies from about 480 to 530 miles.

With the Hurricane SO engine, the Ram 1500 gets about 17–18/24–25 mpg and a range of 435 to 545 miles. Opting for the Hurricane HO reduces fuel economy to 14–15/16–21 mpg and range from 495 to 560 miles thanks to a larger fuel tank.

The 5.7-liter Hemi V-8 engine delivers about 16/20 mpg and a range of over 500 miles on a full tank of fuel.

The Ram TRX is expected to be a serious fuel guzzler, with an estimated 10/14 mpg and a range of less than 400 miles.

Safety

We expect the 2027 RAM 1500 to come with similar safety features to the current model. Expected standard features include forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, rear cross traffic alert, blind-spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, pedestrian detection, lane departure warning, and automatic high-beam assist.

Standard driver assistance and active safety features on the 2027 Ram 1500 should include:

  • Front automatic emergency braking
  • Lane guard assistance
  • Adaptive cruise control
  • Front and rear parking sensors
  • Trailer sway control
  • The high-end version has the following advantages:
  • Introduction to traffic signs
  • Emergency avoidance steering assistance
  • Collision prevention at intersections
  • Blind spot monitoring
  • Rear cross traffic warning

Ram offers Active Driving Assist and Hands-Free Active Driving Assist for a higher level of autonomous driving. These features are useful, but General Motors’ Super Cruise and Ford’s BlueCruise are better.

2027 RAM 1500 Competitor

  1. Ford F- 150
  2. Chevrolet Silverado 1500
  3. Toyota Tundra
  4. Rivian R1T

2027 RAM 1500 Price

The 2027 Ram 1500 is expected to start around $42,000 for the base Tradesman trim with no additional options. This work truck is painted white and rides on steel wheels, but at least it has automatic LED headlights and a cargo bed illumination. Basic amenities include an 8.4-inch touchscreen, one-touch power windows, adaptive cruise control, and front and rear parking sensors. The truck comes standard with a V-6 engine.

2027 Dodge RAM 3500

The Big Horn trim transforms the Ram 1500 into a good all-around vehicle for many buyers. Opting for the Hurricane engine and the Level 2 equipment package will increase the total price to just over $55,000. That price includes 20-inch alloy wheels, heated power-folding side mirrors, body-colored fender flares, and an automatic power-sliding rear window.

Inside, the Big Horn gets a heated steering wheel and front seats, premium cloth upholstery, a 12.0-inch touchscreen, a 7.0-inch instrument panel display, a nine-speaker audio system, electrically adjustable pedals, and dual-zone climate control, among other upgrades.

  • Price $44,620 – $91,395 and Estimated Price: TRX starts at $102,590

2027 RAM 1500 Release Date

The 2027 RAM 1500 TRX will arrive in the second half of 2026. We expect the rest of the 2027 RAM 1500 lineup to be introduced at that time as well. More information about these pickup trucks will be available in the coming months.

Furthermore, this vehicle will be the company’s most expensive half-ton truck. Pricing starts at $102,590, including a hefty $2,595 delivery fee. That’s a lot of money, but we don’t imagine Ram will have any trouble selling every TRX it produces. After all, this dinosaur was brought back to life for a reason.

  • Release Date: Second half of 2026 (TRX)

FAQs: People also ask about the Dodge RAM 3500 2027

To avoid problems with a Ram 3500, stay away from the 2003 Dodge Ram (dashboard cracks, high complaints), the 2007 (serious steering or "death wobble"), the 2013–2018 models (first-generation aftermarket systems, turbo issues in 2014–15), and possibly newer models like the 2018 (brake system recalls) or the 2023 (engine or seatbelt issues). Instead, look for pre-emissions 2nd gens or well-maintained 4th or 5th gens, as problems often have to do with emissions technology, launch years, or specific parts like turbo actuators or lifters.

There is no clear winner between Duramax and Cummins; they each have their own strengths and weaknesses. For example, Duramax is often praised for its smooth, refined power and high horsepower for everyday driving, while Cummins is known for its raw low-end torque, simple inline-six design, and legendary long-haul reliability for heavy towing and work applications. However, both engines are durable if they are properly maintained. The best pick depends on how you want to use it: for performance and comfort (Duramax) or for maximum pulling strength and toughness (Cummins).

The 2026 RAM 2500 and 3500 offer two engine options: 4L HEMI V8: Around 14–15 MPG city and 18–22 MPG highway. 7L Cummins Turbo Diesel: Up to 17 MPG city and 25 MPG highway.

Verdict
