All-New 2024 Jeep Wagoneer Premium SUV Review

Posted on

2024 Jeep Wagoneer S: The Wagoneer family is getting bigger with the addition of a new midsize premium electric SUV, known as the Wagoneer S. This new SUV is quite different from the full-size Wagoneer, Grand Wagoneer, and the longer-wheelbase L versions of both SUVs, as it is smaller in size and fully electric.

It is designed to compete with the Land Rover Range Rover Sport and is set to be available in North America in 2024.

The Wagoneer S is expected to be quite fast, with 600 horsepower and an estimated 0-60-mph time of 3.5 seconds. It will also have a range of about 400 miles.

The SUV will use the STLA Large platform and will likely have dual motors for all-wheel-drive capability. It will also have great 4WD capability as standard equipment, but will not be Rubicon trail-rated like most other Jeeps.

The Wagoneer S is slightly smaller than the current Jeep Grand Cherokee, but both SUVs have similar interiors with the same legroom.

The battery and floor of the EV are flat, which allowed designers to maximize the interior space and create a good D-segment package. The Wagoneer S has a swoopy look and a reimagined roof that plunges beneath the rear wing.

The LED-lit grille is also reinvented to pierce the wind, making it a work of art that embodies the brand DNA, according to Stellantis chief design officer Ralph Gilles.

2024 Jeep Wagoneer Review

Jeep previously had a gap in its SUV lineup with no full-size three-row option, but that has been filled by the Wagoneer and its pricier counterpart, the Grand Wagoneer. It is unlikely that there will be any significant changes to the Wagoneer for the 2024 model year, especially after receiving an engine update in the previous year.

2024 Jeep Wagoneer

The Wagoneer comes with a standard 5.7-liter V8 engine that produces 392 horsepower and 404 lb-ft of torque.

The Series II models and above now come with a turbocharged inline-six engine that produces a more robust 420 horsepower and 468 lb-ft of torque. The SUV has an optional four-wheel drive and an eight-speed transmission, which enables it to tow up to 10,000 pounds, depending on the specifications.

All Wagoneer models come with a 10.1-inch touchscreen that includes wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. It also features a digital gauge cluster and an additional screen in front of the passenger seat to control the media and other settings.

The interior is filled with luxurious materials such as leather and wood to ensure maximum comfort during long journeys.

Jeep faces established competition in the full-size three-row SUV market, including the Chevy Tahoe, GMC Yukon, Toyota Sequoia, and Ford Expedition.

While these competitors offer a similar luxurious interior and strong towing capacity, the Wagoneer’s ability to tow more than its rivals makes it an excellent choice for some buyers.

2024 Jeep Wagoneer S Review

Jeep, a company renowned for producing a range of powerful and capable off-road vehicles, has announced that its the latest offering, the 2024 all-electric Jeep Wagoneer S, will join the ranks of its popular Avenger and Recon models.

This move marks Jeep’s foray into the world of electrification and its commitment to providing customers with reliable, efficient, and capable SUVs. The Jeep Wagoneer S is designed to compete with other popular electric SUVs such as the Range Rover Sport and the Audi e-tron, and is expected to make a big impact in the North American market.

Unlike the Grand Cherokee, which has a traditional gasoline-powered engine, the Wagoneer S will be exclusively powered by a battery, offering drivers an impressive 400 miles on a single charge.

Drawing design inspiration from Jeep’s successful gasoline-powered models, the Wagoneer S will also incorporate several unique features that are specific to electric vehicles, including a striking LED-lit grille that gives it a futuristic appearance.

Although the official pricing for the 2024 Jeep Wagoneer S has not yet been released, it is expected to start at around $80,000, putting it in direct competition with other luxury electric SUVs such as the BMW iX.

With a powerful 600-horsepower engine, the Jeep Wagoneer S is poised to take the electric SUV market by storm and compete with other established players in the segment.

Electric

The Wagoneer S and the electrified Grand Wagoneer are two different vehicles. The Grand Wagoneer 4xe is expected to be a plug-in hybrid and is scheduled to be electrified in 2024.

It is part of Jeep’s 4xe strategy, which has been successful with the Wrangler 4xe being the top-selling PHEV in the U.S. and Canada and the newly launched Grand Cherokee 4xe starting strong. The electrified Grand Wagoneer will have a range of about 500 miles from a single charge.

The Wagoneer S is one of four all-electric SUVs planned for North America and Europe by the end of 2025 as part of Jeep’s larger plan for fully electric 4xe vehicles. Christian Meunier, the CEO of Jeep, has stated that the full lineup will have some form of electrification by 2025.

Design

It appears that the “S” in Wagoneer S might stand for speed, given the SUV’s impressive specs, including a powerful 600-horsepower engine and the ability to go from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.5 seconds. While details about the powertrain haven’t been fully disclosed yet, it’s likely to feature a dual-motor setup with a 125-kW motor for the front wheels and a 330-kW electric motor for the rear.

According to Jeep, the Wagoneer S will have a range of 400 miles on a full charge, making it ideal for long trips. The vehicle is also expected to have fast-charging capabilities, with just 10 minutes of charging providing an additional 200 miles of range.

Interior

The interior of the 2024 Jeep Wagoneer S will offer similar legroom capacity as the Grand Cherokee, with a spacious and comfortable cabin designed to maximize interior space despite the flat battery.

The SUV will feature five seats across two rows with a luxurious leather-dressed aesthetic promised by the automaker and high-quality craftsmanship. The Jeep Wagoneer S will come with impressive technology and comforts such as a heated steering wheel, a bespoke digital instrument cluster, and two touchscreen displays, a central 10.1-inch touchscreen, and an 8-inch screen in front of the passenger.

Jeep promises to deliver a statement of efficiency with the Wagoneer S, which will compete with electrified SUVs in the market.

The Wagoneer S boasts futuristic features and an enviable design, combined with its impressive 0-60 mph time and a range of 400 miles, it has the potential to become a favorite in the SUV market.

Performance

The design team clearly had a bold and attractive aesthetic in mind when creating the exterior of the 2024 Jeep Wagoneer S.

The SUV’s seven-element grille is positioned front and center and features a sleeker design than previous gas-powered models. Each grille slot is illuminated with LED lights, and the hood is adorned with eye-catching lettering. A prominent LED strip further enhances the futuristic look of the front end.

The Wagoneer S’s rear boasts a sloping roofline reminiscent of a coupe and features a streamlined taillight that complements the striking front-end lighting. Jeep’s newfound focus on aerodynamics is evident in the SUV’s sleek lines and soft curves.

Although Jeep hasn’t yet released official information regarding color options for the Wagoneer S, the silver and blue shades seen in press releases suggest that this stunning vehicle will look great in any color.

2024 Jeep Grand Wagoneer

Currently, the Grand Wagoneer is Jeep’s largest and most luxurious SUV in its lineup. While it shares the same platform and body as the non-Grand Wagoneer, the Grand Wagoneer is more upscale and more expensive than its counterpart.

We don’t anticipate many changes for the 2024 model year, as the 2023 Wagoneer introduced a new turbo straight-six engine, which is likely to remain until a mid-cycle refresh occurs in a few years.

The Jeep faces competition from other SUVs in the market, such as the Lincoln Navigator, Cadillac Escalade, and Mercedes-Benz GLS, which surpasses the Jeep in terms of on-road comfort and luxury finishes.

However, the Jeep offers exceptional off-road capabilities that its competitors lack, which could be a deciding factor for those who frequently venture off paved roads. If you are considering purchasing a Grand Wagoneer, it would be wise to begin your search now since what you see on the market today is expected to be nearly identical to what you will find in 2024.

2024 Wagoneer S Electric SUV Review

Jeep has initiated a competition to select a name for their new midsize electric SUV, currently known as Wagoneer S. This SUV, belonging to the Wagoneer luxury sub-brand, is set to launch in North America in 2024, followed by other global markets.

The concept was first introduced in September as the Wagoneer S pre-production model, along with two other Jeep BEVs. Jeep is requesting brand enthusiasts to propose a suitable name of up to 50 characters for the first-ever Jeep Wagoneer electric vehicle. To participate, fans can visit www.namethenewwagoneer.com.

The contest will take place from Wednesday, November 23, to Friday, December 2, 2022. The winner of the competition will be awarded a ski trip for four to Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, including airfare, accommodation, lift tickets, rentals, guide or instruction, and a $1,000 gift card to the retail store, valued at $40,000.

The Wagoneer electric SUV will only be available as a battery electric vehicle (BEV) and is expected to have a range of 400 miles on a single charge, a 600-horsepower all-wheel-drive powertrain, and a 0-60 mph acceleration time of about 3.5 seconds.

Jeep claims that the Wagoneer EV will come with standard 4×4 capability, advanced technology, and impressive performance features, including all-terrain management.

The all-electric Wagoneer S concept was unveiled on September 8, 2022, during Jeep’s 4xe Day. It features a signature LED-lit grille and a sleek, aerodynamic design that blends with the classic Wagoneer side view.

Jeep will begin accepting reservations from US customers in early 2023, with the production model set to debut around the same time. The Wagoneer S EV will be manufactured in North America in 2024 and will eventually be sold in major global markets, including Europe.

2024 Jeep Wagoneer EV Review

Jeep is set to introduce two electric SUVs to the North American market, the 2024 Wagoneer EV and the Jeep Recon. Unlike the Jeep Wrangler 4xe and the Grand Cherokee 4xe, which are plug-in hybrid models, the Wagoneer EV will be powered exclusively by a battery with an estimated range of 400 miles on a single charge.

It is expected to have a 600-horsepower output, allowing the SUV to accelerate to 60 miles per hour in about 3.5 seconds. Jeep plans for EVs to make up 50% of its sales in the U.S. by 2030. The Wagoneer EV will feature a blend of modern and traditional styling elements, including a light-up grille

That is correct. Jeep has not yet disclosed the pricing for the Wagoneer EV, and it remains unclear what standard and optional features the SUV will offer.

It is likely that the EV will be offered in a similar trim structure to the current gasoline-powered Wagoneer, but we will have to wait for further details from Jeep to confirm this.
