2024 Jeep Gladiator Review
The 2024 Jeep Gladiator is a mid-size pickup truck with tough off-road capabilities. The 2024 Gladiator is designed for users who want a versatile vehicle with an extraordinary towing capacity.
We expect the updates coming to the 2024 Jeep Gladiator to be more substantial than just a new look or off-road package. Expected changes include one or two bumper design changes, front and rear lights.
We are honestly looking forward to the most awaited update, the arrival of the plug-in hybrid-powered Gladiator 4xe. Hopefully, the 2024 model year will materialize without any industry turmoil.
Even Edmunds calls the Overland trim the most “complete” option for the 2024 Jeep Gladiator, even though Jeep hasn’t released official specifications for next year’s model. This is likely due to its undeniable resemblance to the 2023 Jeep Gladiator Overland. While some details may change between now and when the 2024 Gladiator hits showrooms, things appear to be locked in.
- The Gladiator seats five people in a four-door crew cab configuration and a 5-foot tailgate.
- All Gladiators feature standard four-wheel drive.
- The Gladiator is the only mid-size pickup truck with a convertible top, easy-removable doors, and a collapsible windshield.
2024 Jeep Gladiator Redesign
The grille of changes that are expected to occur in the 2024 Jeep Gladiator with several updates and improvements in its more aggressive and modern redesign. Equipped with LED front and rear lights.
Then the tailgate has been extended by 2.3 inches providing more cargo space. What’s more, the 2024 Gladiator is now equipped with a removable hardtop and soft top options allowing you to enjoy open-air driving.
2024 Jeep Gladiator Specs
A standard Seacra Jeep Gladiator weighs almost as much as a Wrangler 4xe. So any powertrain plug-in needs to account not only for the Gladiator’s heavier mass but also for its hefty towing capabilities (up to 7,700 pounds when equipped with the petrol engine).
The 2024 Jeep Gladiator is powered by a 3.6-liter V6 engine that develops 285 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. It is equipped with a six-speed manual transmission as standard.
An eight-speed automatic transmission can be optional, and the Gladiator has a towing capacity of up to 7,650 pounds and a payload capacity of up to 1,700 pounds.
The Wrangler 4xe uses a four-cylinder engine paired with dual electric motors to produce 470 lb-ft of torque. We expect the Gladiator’s hybrid setup to require closer to 500-510 lb-ft.

2024 Jeep Gladiator 4xe
If you’re hoping for the Jeep Gladiator 4xe to arrive soon, you’re not alone. There’s nothing wrong with wanting a truck with more power and better fuel economy. New clues suggest that the 2024 Jeep Gladiator 4xe could be here sooner than you think.
We’re just weeks away from seeing the 2024 Jeep Gladiator 4xe for the first time. The Easter Jeep Safari is a 9-day event that runs from April 1st to April 9th. This is the right time to present new concepts and models to the public for testing.
The event mainly consists of test rides, some of which can last all day. If that wasn’t enough to excite Jeepers, we have a few teaser images of what to expect. For example, a picture of a Jeep Gladiator 4xe running our bike.
According to AutoBlog, one of those images appears to be the Glaidaor Rubicon. You can see the vertical rear window and the beginning of the tailgate. It was equipped with a tube door, and the Jeep badge was outlined in light blue.
Light blue is the color used to distinguish the 4xe model from the regular gas-powered model. Also, this is the first Gladiator 4xe lead in a long time. It’s already been delayed once, so we hope things stay on track this time around.
The 2024 Jeep Gladiator 4xe can borrow the same powertrain from the Jeep Wrangler 4xe. It uses a 2.0-liter turbo inline-four, two electric motors, and a 17-kWh battery to produce 375 hp and 470 lb-ft of torque. It’s gonna be interesting
It can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in about 6.0 seconds, and it’s the most powerful Wrangler besides the Rubicon 392. However, it can only tow up to 3,500 lbs. The gas-powered Gladiator can tow up to 7,700 lbs.
We don’t see the 4xe being much weaker than the gas-powered model, so perhaps it will have a stronger hybrid setup. Plus, the Gladiator is bigger and heavier than the Wrangler. Rumors also suggest that a Jeep Grand Wagoneer 4xe might be on the way.
There may be a hybrid variant of the new Hurricane engine. The 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder engine produces 500 hp and 510 lb-ft of torque.
Currently, the Gladiator has a standard 3.6-liter V6 engine with 285 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque. The optional 3.0-liter V6 diesel engine produces 260 hp and 442 lb-ft of torque.
Official fuel economy figures for the 2024 Jeep Gladiator 4xe have yet to be released. But the Jeep Wrangler 4xe gets an EPA-estimated electric range of 21 miles on a single charge. It gets about 49 MPGe and can go up to 370 miles on a single tank.
We wanted the Gladiator 4xe to have even more range. Gas-powered models get an EPA estimate of 17 mpg in the city and up to 22 mpg on the highway. Upgrading to a diesel engine provides up to 22 mpg in the city and up to 28 mpg on the highway.
With a Level II charger, it takes about two hours to charge. With a level 1 charger, this can take up to 12 hours. The Wrangler 4xe comes with a standard level 1 charging cable.
2024 Jeep Gladiator Exterior
The 2024 Jeep Gladiator’s tough and muscular design sets it apart from other mid-size trucks. The Gladiator comes with 17-inch wheels, but you can choose 18-inch or 20-inch wheels.
The tailgate features a spray bedliner, making it more durable and resistant to scratches and dents. The Gladiator is now equipped with a power tail door lock which adds an extra layer of security.
2024 Jeep Gladiator Interior
On the inside, the 2024 Jeep Gladiator feels spacious, comfortable, and practical. The classic Jeep’s upright driving position works well here and the superior rear seat space is a real advantage over other pickups.
The dashboard features an 8.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. Additionally, Gladiator now comes with a wireless charging pad allowing you to charge your phone wirelessly.
Visibility fore and aft of the Jeep Gladiator is excellent, and drivers can easily place their tires wherever they go. The standard rearview camera can be paired with an optional front-view camera meant for off-road crawling.
Comfort
It’s no stranger to the Jeep Gladiator’s heavy solid front axle suspension interfering with the ride and you’ll also hear more wind and road noise than in other trucks.
On the other hand, the comfort provided by the Jeep Gladiator is with its supportive seats and strong climate control system, and ventilation for rear passengers.
Technology
The touchscreen infotainment section has attractive graphics and fast response times. It’s also easy to use thanks to its logical mix of fixed buttons, knobs, and touchscreen controls. The sound quality from the optional Alpine stereo is sharp. The available Gladiator advanced driver assist tools also work well.
2024 Jeep Gladiator Engine
The 2024 Jeep Gladiator is powered by a 3.6-liter V6 engine that delivers smooth and responsive performance. The engine is paired with a standard six-speed manual transmission providing a more exciting driving experience.
The Gladiator is now equipped with a mild-hybrid system that improves fuel efficiency and reduces emissions.
Performance
In the Gladiator Rubicon test results with the V6 engine performed by Edmunds, it takes 8.5 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph. The result is a bit slow for a mid-size pickup although it won’t be as noticeable as it is for everyday driving.
The Gladiator Rubicon is a master for off-road ground clearance and the resulting traction is able to get over almost any obstacle with the Gladiator’s longer wheelbase making it slightly lighter than the Wrangler on tight trails. With the same giant tires and tough front axle that make the Gladiator excel on off-road terrain.

Payloads
The Gladiator excels over its rivals with its strong tow rating (even the Rubicon) and large payload capacity. The bed was carefully designed, with low bedside and a power-locking rear door. If you’re a frequent tower trailer, consider adding an aftermarket tow mirror because the Gladiator’s narrow body means you won’t be able to see past the wide load with a standard mirror.
The rear seat volume and folding strategy make it suitable for cargo and child seats. Gladiator’s main weakness is the lack of storage space for your personal items. The glove box and center console are small, and the in-door storage is nothing more than a mesh pocket.
2024 Jeep Gladiator MPG
Just by looking at her checkered style, you can tell that the Gladiator wasn’t meant to be a fuel economy champion. The Gladiator with a V6 and automatic transmission gets a combined 19 mpg estimated by the EPA. That’s on par with any other six-cylinder-equipped midsize 4WD pickup.
Jeep doesn’t offer a more fuel-efficient four-cylinder engine option, though the available V6 diesel promises to maximize fuel economy at a combined 24 mpg.
The 2024 Gladiator features a plug-in powertrain that will help increase the Gladiator’s fuel efficiency to an EPA estimate of just 19 mpg combined. The Gladiator could benefit from a rechargeable battery pack that supplies around 20 miles of power and takes some of the gas engine’s load at a slower pace.
2024 Jeep Gladiator Color
The 2024 Jeep Gladiator comes in ten different colors, including Bright White, Black, Sting-Gray, Granite Crystal, Billet Silver, Hydro Blue, Snazzberry, Firecracker Red, Sarge Green, and Nacho.
2024 Jeep Gladiator Models
Jeep hasn’t released any official information about the 2024 Gladiator as of this writing. We’ll update our recommendations if anything changes, but based on last year’s Gladiator, we think the Overland is the most complete trim yet. It’s more urbane than the blank canvas Sport and adds useful features like power windows and door locks, a touchscreen, and larger navigation.
There’s nothing wrong with paying a little extra for the Rubicon, especially if you venture into rough terrain often. We also appreciate Jeep’s dedication to diesel engines, but question their value. It could take years for diesel’s higher fuel economy to offset its added initial cost.
Gladiator Jeep Models
The following unofficial information is based on last year’s Gladiator. We expect the 2024 model will have a similar lineup and we will update this section once we have full information.] The Jeep Gladiator is a mid-size pickup truck that accommodates up to five passengers. Pros and cons of Gladiator 2024
Edmunds’ review praised the Jeep Gladiator’s rugged character and off-road capabilities. It is also the “only convertible truck” on the market, and its rear seats provide more passenger space than its rival mid-size trucks.
While reviewers enjoyed the Gladiator’s off-road capabilities, the ability to climb to the top came at a price. While most notable on the Rubicon trim, each Gladiator exhibits sluggish steering response with fuzzy steering wheel feedback.
Additionally, the Gladiator’s off-road-centric suspension causes excessive bounce and wandering that reviewers describe as “wiggle”. Finally, the Gladiator’s fuel economy rating lags behind other mid-size pickup truck competitors.
Verdict
The 2024 Jeep Gladiator is a versatile and capable mid-size pickup truck that’s perfect for off-road adventures and everyday driving. It offers a comfortable and practical interior, excellent towing and payload capacities, and a smooth and responsive engine. New updates and improvements in the redesign make it even more attractive and desirable.
Overall, the Gladiator is a fun, rugged off-road machine that offers more practicality than the Wrangler thanks to its strong tailgate and towing capacity. No other mid-size truck combines the same qualities, although some, such as the Chevrolet Colorado and Toyota Tacoma, are easier for everyday use. The Gladiator’s noise level and ride quality can be adjusted to taste. Be sure to read our Expert Rating below to determine if the Gladiator meets your truck needs.

FAQs: People also ask Jeep Gladiator 2024
Q: Will there be a 2024 Jeep Gladiator?

Q: Will Jeep discontinue Gladiator?
A: Back In Action In 2023, With Minor Changes… The Jeep® Gladiator (JT) will enter its fourth year of production at the Toledo Assembly Complex – South. As the brand’s most off-road capable pickup, the Gladiator looks forward to continuing its success going into the 2023 model year.
Q: Is Jeep going to make a 392 Gladiator?
A: Due to the Gladiator’s weight and size, this engine may put out less power. But it would still be one hell of an improvement. The Wrangler Rubicon 392 can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in about 4.0 seconds, so the truck can fly. The 2023 Ford Ranger Raptor uses a 3.0-liter V6 engine with 392 hp and 430 lb-ft of torque.
Q: What are the updates for the 2023 Gladiator?
A: Jeep isn’t rocking the Gladiator Rx much for 2023, but has added a limited edition Freedom package, available in the Sport S trim for an additional $3295. The Freedom Package features a military-themed exterior honoring US servicemen and women; it unloads trucks with custom steel front bumpers and rock sliders.
