2022 Jeep Grand Wagoneer Price: Next-Gen Jeep Wagoneer Preview and Price Detailed
2022 Jeep Wagoneer Price The Jeep Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer will be a larger, classy SUV set from brands that are more often associated with off-road than a luxury. While we’re only looking at the Grand Wagoneer concept, which has a bold styling and luxurious interior, Jeep says a production-ready version, and the regular Wagoneer will hit showrooms next year.
Based on the full-size Ram 1500 pickup truck and three-row seats, the new Jeep is expected to face established SUVs such as the Chevy Tahoe and Ford Expedition as well as the BMW X7 and Cadillac Escalade.
That suggests Wagoneers will have a wide range of premium options, powertrain configurations, and labels. price. We also hope that they will be endowed with competitive crane ratings, redundant driver-assist technology, and enterprise hardware capable of doing a ubiquitous footprint.
Even though Jeep has launched what looks like a near-production version of the upcoming Grand Wagoneer, we’re still not sure how it compares to the non-Grand Wagoneer. We think the standard model will occupy the main space while the Grand will be marketed towards a more affluent audience. As such, we can only make guesses about the Wagoneers’ potential powertrains and the final feature list.
2022 Jeep Wagoneer Preview
With no three-row SUV in its line-up, Jeep is out of competition with the Volkswagen Atlas and the Hyundai Palisade, both of which offer extra third-row seating. That will all change with the launch of the Jeep Grand Wagoneer, with production set to begin in the first half of 2021. This will also mark the return of the Grand Wagoneer nameplate, which will top the Grand Cherokee in the Jeep SUV hierarchy.
While the details are still being filtered out, for now, we know that the Grand Wagoneer will be built at the Fiat Chrysler (FCA) Michigan plant. Initial renderings show what looks like a stretched Grand Cherokee, clearly making way for an increase in the seating capacity of the Grand Wagoneer.
The new Jeep SUV is also expected to share components with the new Ram 1500 and build alongside the Ram HD. A highly camouflaged test ass has been seen using the independent rear suspension, which would free up space for the third row and position the Grand Wagoneer alongside premium SUVs like the Lincoln Navigator.
Engine options are not confirmed at this point, although FCA has previously stated its intention to launch eight Jeep plug-in hybrids in the US by 2022, with the Grand Wagoneer likely to be a recipient of such a powertrain.
The Ram 1500’s new 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine and 5.7-liter V8 engine are also credible donors. At this stage, pricing is not confirmed yet, but unless another delay by FCA, we will see the upcoming Grand Wagoneer showroom in the second half of 2021.

2022 Jeep Wagoneer Report
When the Jeep Grand Wagoneer Concept debuted last month, it represented a bold new direction for the brand. That’s important not only because Jeep ended up making a large truck-based SUV, but also because the interior is a clear step above all in the Jeep / Ram / Chrysler family.
The sticker shock is equally impressive, however, with the upscale Grand Wagoneer estimated to carry a price tag of just north of $ 100,000. That’s a hundred thousand. For Jeep.
So we thought: Could a Jeep be worth six figures? After much debate, here are our arguments for and against. The thought of a $ 100,000 Jeep is absurd. You see, Lincoln and Cadillac got away with selling six-digit versions of the Navigator and Escalade – two truck-based SUVs that would compete with the Grand Wagoneer – because those models have been equated with luxury from day one.
Equally important, the brand itself has always been oriented towards luxury, leaving Ford and Chevrolet to cover the mainstream vehicle segment. There’s a sense of exclusivity around the Navigator and Escalade that makes getting down their daily pickup truck roots that much easier.
In contrast, Jeep is a major brand that is primarily associated with off-roading. The Mercedes-Benz G-Class and Land Rover Range Rover are luxury off-roaders, of course, but we doubt the same buyers will line up for vehicles with less prestigious badges – especially those based on big trucks (in the Grand Wagoneer Case, the Ram 1500 which is extraordinary).
Unless you are a diehard Jeep who refuses to buy a vehicle without a seven-blade grille, what does the Grand Wagoneer have to offer that you can’t find in some of the special luxury SUVs at this price?
2022 Jeep Wagoneer Interior
With three rows of seats, Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer would allow associating the extended family jeep lifestyle, which has not been possible since around its former and unloved Commander. Based on the Grand Wagoneer concept, the cabin looks like one of the company’s most stylish and high-tech.
While we’re not sure if the concept’s generous use of glass and eco-friendly materials will come to a production model, the two-arm steering wheel and the resulting “EST. We think there are possible details inspired by the original Grand Wagoneer, including the 1963” inscription. On the edge of the line when you open the door.
The driver will face a fully digital set of meters and several physical controls. (Many functions will be controlled via the info-entertainment screen.) The interior was also enhanced with adjustable ambient lighting and a full panel glass ceiling. Grand Wagoneer concept supports seating for up to seven passengers,
If you thought there were a lot of new Mercedes-Benz S-class displays, wait until you see the concept of grand wagoneer. Not only does it have a 12.1-inch gauge cluster, but there is also a 12.1-inch center touchscreen that sits on top of a 10.3-inch touchscreen with controls for the HVAC system.
In front of the front passenger seat, there is another 10.3-inch touch screen. You know, if they didn’t bother interacting with the large center screen that supports the latest infotainment software (called Uconnect 5) that’s only a few inches away. We expect all sorts of popular content and connectivity features, from Apple CarPlay and Android Auto to Wi-Fi hotspots and wireless charging.

The concept also offers a 10.3-inch touch screen on the second-row center console as well as a pair of 10.1-inch touch screens for each passenger in the row. Oh, and the concept has the power of the Stereo McIntosh which has 23 speakers. Jeep is proud to declare that it is “the only vehicle audio system in the world that is powered by McIntosh.” So that means it must be pretty good, right? Exactly how many of these ultra-technologies have been produced remains to be seen.
2022 Jeep Wagoneer Engine
The Grand Wagoneer concept features a plug-in-hybrid powertrain, but we haven’t been given any details about the gas engine it is paired with or the all-electric driving distance. However, the debut of the Wrangler 4xe plug-in-hybrid and other upcoming PHEV models fits the company’s ambitious plans to ensure that every model line in the Jeep brand has a hybrid or plug-in hybrid by 2022.
Jeep says that both Wagoneers will use the body-on-frame foundations that come from the Ram 1500, but they will feature independent rear suspension rather than the solid rear axle of the truck. We also hope Wagoneers share engine and transmission options with the Ram. This suggests a 3.6-liter V-6 engine with a hybrid system (called eTorque) will be the base engine.
The more powerful 5.7 liter Hemi V-8 – also with eTorque technology – will almost certainly be on offer as well. It’s also possible that a revised 3.0-liter V-6 diesel, optional at half-ton Ram, could interfere. We were told that the Grand Wagoneer would offer “unmatched” towing capability and would be available with three different all-wheel-drive systems and air suspension.
2022 Jeep Wagoneer MPG
Neither Jeep nor the EPA has released a fuel economy rating for the Wagoneer or Grand Wagoneer. Once those numbers are announced, and we have the opportunity to test them on our 75 mph highway route – part of our extensive testing regimen – we can evaluate their real-world mpg.
2022 Jeep Wagoneer Price and Release Date
Jeep hasn’t released any information on how much its new three-line SUV will cost, but the brand president says the Wagoneer will start at around $ 60,000. He also said that a fully-loaded Grand Wagoneer would cost over $ 100,000, so we think the base model will start somewhere around $ 75,000.
Jeep has unveiled the highly anticipated Jeep Grand Wagoneer 2022 revival sheet, and while the debut vehicle is touted as a concept, one of the first questions anyone is asking is how much the big luxury SUV costs.
First and foremost, the Grand Wagoneer will be available in two sizes, such as the less luxurious plain Wagoneer model; all four versions will feature three rows of seats. The basic Wagoneer will aim its seven-blade grille right at the Ford Expedition, GMC Yukon, and Chevy Tahoe and will start at around $ 60,000. For reference, Tahoe 2021 starts at $ 50,295. the 2021 Yukon at $ 51,995, and the 2020 Expedition at $ 54,505, so the Jeep will be just a little more expensive.
A long-wheelbase 2022 Wagoneer will probably start under $ 65,000; The rival Chevy Suburban, Yukon XL, and Expedition Max all make around $ 2,000 more than their short-wheelbase counterparts.
We don’t yet know what type of equipment the regular Wagoneer will offer, but we anticipate that it will be installed as the more useful type, an option for those who frequently pull out, stack children and friends, and/or transport a lot of equipment. At the launch of the Grand Wagoneer concept, Jeep mentioned how this SUV is theoretically capable of towing up to 10,000 pounds – full-size pickup area.
And then along comes the Grand Wagoneer 2022, which leans more towards the luxury side. While still highly capable both on and off the highway, it will offer things like a plug-in-hybrid powertrain, high-end interior materials, the latest connectivity and infotainment technology, a large screen, and a large panoramic glass roof, among other delights, in an attempt to take on the Cadillac Escalade, Lincoln Navigator, Range Rover, and similar full-size luxury SUVs.
We anticipate this model will start at around $ 75,000 in short wheelbase, and perhaps $ 80,000 in longer wheelbase which will be juxtaposed with the Navigator L, Escalade ESV, and Mercedes-Benz GLS-Class. (The 2021 Escalade and the redesigned ESV start at $ 77,490 / $ 80,490, the 2020 / L Navigator at $ 77,480 / $ 86,220, and the GLS at $ 76,945.) The stack of options and the Grand Wagoneer will run in around $ 100,000.
If that sounds a lot for a Jeep, it is sort of. But on the last model in 1991, the original Grand Wagoneer was selling for under $ 60,000, so there is a lot of precedent for the prince’s SUV not only for the brand but for the nameplate as well.
We are looking forward to encouraging the reborn Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer in all their forms and finding out not only if the prices are worth it, but whether they are worth the three-decade wait.
