Posted on

2026 RAM 2500 is a large truck model capable of performing heavy work and equipped with high technology to facilitate work. This RAM HD truck is in demand in the American automotive market because of its reliability and excellent driving impression.

Updates (August 27, 2025): We’ve updated the full details on the 2026 Ram 2500, which offers powerful engines, a comfortable interior, and a strong towing capacity. The price range is $46,250–$62,605.

After the success of the previous model, RAM will now present the 2026 model year as its newest model. We expect a lot of changes in the 2026 RAM 2500 model. Some of the RAM Truck’s components are impressive, especially its 4,000-pound payload carrying capacity.

The RAM HD Truck is enormous but very comfortable to drive. The suspension on this truck provides comfort, either with coil springs or air springs, which can be chosen as an option. Therefore, this truck is one of the best quality in its segment.

2026 RAM 2500 Review

We love the 2026 RAM 2500 because it has many powerful engine options, can pull and carry a lot of weight, and rides rather smoothly and quietly. The 2500 got a big makeover for 2025. It now has a new version of the 6.7-liter Cummins turbodiesel engine that has been tweaked to make 430 horsepower and 1,075 lb-ft of torque.

2026 RAM 2500

You can also choose a 14.5-inch touchscreen display with the newest Uconnect infotainment software. The Ram 2500 comes in a range of trims, from the basic Tradesman work truck to the high-end Limited and Limited Longhorn variants.

The 2026 Ram 2500 is one of two heavy-duty pickup trucks in the Ram series (the other is the 3500). It has a powerful engine, a comfortable interior, and a large towing capacity. It may be used for both work and play and comes in several different configurations to fulfill different demands.

The Ford F-250 Super Duty, Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD, and GMC Sierra 2500HD are all heavy-duty truck competitors.

The 2026 RAM 2500 is a sturdy and popular vehicle, especially in America. This truck has been updated for last year’s model with some of Tam’s heavy-duty components.

The New RAM 2500 is expected to have an exceptional interior presence and a reliable ride. This heavy-duty truck also has a rear suspension with coil springs or, optionally, air springs, giving it the best ride quality in its segment.

New

Ram currently makes value-focused versions of the Black Express and Warlock 2500 sport-utility trucks based on the 1500 models. This is the brand’s first use of those model names for its heavy-duty trucks.

Our Perspective

MotorTrend has loved the Ram 2500 for a long time, and the changes made for the 2026 model year only make it better.

Thanks to its powerful turbodiesel engine and current transmission, this truck is easier to drive, more powerful, and more efficient than ever. It’s also lovely that Ram offers the same engine choices for the 2500 and 3500 models instead of simply the 3500’s highest-torque engine.

The Ram 2500 has always been ahead of the curve in technology, but the 2025 upgrade makes the cabin even better by adding a bigger, more advanced digital display. More processing power and an optional copilot display for passengers make driving easier.

This year’s update also includes a setting for the less expensive class. After these upgrades, the Ram 2500 is still the best heavy-duty vehicle in its class, strengthening its place in our rankings.

2026 Ram 2500 Redesign

He was reported by one of the FA automotive media, which informed that the Ram HD 2026 is being tested in two different looks ahead of the model’s official launch. These two prototypes consist of the 2026 Ram HD 350 dually and the Ram HD 2500 Rebel, both wearing camouflage covering the front and rear of each pickup.

2026 RAM 2500

The Dually is more of a conventional model, with the Rebel adding a bit of sportiness to the rugged Ram lineup.

Despite the camouflage, it is clear that the Ram HD 2026 will receive a new headlight design and updated front grille, along with some revisions to the rear. We can also see a set of Goodyear Wrangler Duratec tires on the Rebel prototype and a new radar panel under the front grille.

Both models’ interiors are heavily padded, indicating that the cabin will receive some updates.

It is currently unclear what kind of power system updates we might see on the Ram HD 2026 lineup. The Ram 1500 splashed with its switch from V8 power to the new twin-turbocharged Hurricane I-6.

2026 RAM 2500

Previous rumors suggest Stellantis may be exploring a hydrogen option for the HD variant that could arrive as early as late 2025. However, for now, it is unclear if that will actually happen.

2026 Ram 2500 Crew Cab

The rugged and powerful designation for the Ram HD line is apt, as this truck features a large size and is designed for big jobs. Available in both 2500 and 3500 classifications, the Ram HD excels at towing, cargo hauling, and manliness. Estimated prices start at $47,740.

The 2026 RAM 2500 model is expected to compete closely with the rivals of Ford Super Duty, Chevy Silverado HD, and GMC Sierra HD. The Ram HD delivers the weight and power needed to pull large trailers and haul heavy loads. However, it can handle extreme jobs and provides a comfortable, sometimes even near-luxurious environment.

2026 RAM 2500

The issue of interior space dimensions in the cab varies because there is a choice of cabins: Regular, Crew, or Mega. The Mega Cab model has a unique cabin compared to Ram 3500 models.

The Regular Cab has one row of seating for three passengers, while the Crew and Mega Cab have two rows, with the driver and one passenger sitting in the front and accommodation for three people in the back. We found all the seats comfortable.

2026 RAM 2500

One difference between the Ram HD Crew Cab and Mega Cab is that the Mega has more storage space behind its 9.1 cubic feet of rear seats than the Crew’s 3.4.

The seats can also recline for leisure and rest time needs. Both have ample rear legroom. The Crew has 40.2 inches, and the Mega has 43.1 inches, which is quite large for the segment.

2026 RAM 2500 Interior

The 2026 RAM 2500 interior is expected to be attractive and comfortable. Button and interior controls are laid out logically and are easy for the rider to reach and use. Furthermore, there is ample space in each seating position for adults.

Positioning during entry and exit is not a problem, thanks to the optional side steps that can be used and the large openings of the four available doors.

The 2500 Black Express from 2026 has the following standards:

  • You can choose between RWD or 4WD and a large or short bed for the Crew Cab.
  • Sensors for parking at the front and back

Technology

The 2026 RAM 2500 is expected to have upgraded technology over the previous one, with RAM’s top-end 12-inch touchscreen. The screen’s sharp and clear presence has an easy-to-learn organizer structure.

In addition, the integration of easy access to your connected smartphone and voice control works very well. Smartphone integrations like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto operate seamlessly, and you’ll find all the USB ports you could ask for.

There are extra extras for good sound; you can opt for the excellent 17-speaker premium stereo. Driver aids like adaptive cruise control and blind spot warning are effective without being intrusive.

Comfort

The 2026 RAM 2500’s cabin must be very comfortable, as the front and rear seats are set up very comfortably for the driver. The seat cushions are well-padded and have excellent adjustments that provide a good driving experience.

The 2026 RAM 2500 is designed with soft-touch surfaces that are good for hands and elbows, and climate control modes that are easy to operate via the touchscreen and multiple button controls. It also comes with an optional diesel powertrain capable of delivering strong power.

2026 RAM 2500 Features

Apple CarPlay/Android Auto

We consider smartphone integration a must, but the Ram disagrees. This feature is unavailable until the Big Horn trim, one level higher than the base Tradesman, is on the options list. Amazon Alexa compatibility is also available.

12.3-inch digital driver information screen

The 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster is configurable. When equipped with the 12-inch infotainment touchscreen, the high-tech feel of the cabin is even more pronounced. Optional on Laramie trims, standard on Limited Longhorn and Limited trims.

Digital rearview mirror

Enhanced last year with the integration of side cameras, this optional feature can usually display a video feed of what’s behind the truck without passenger heads or cargo getting in the way. The feature also has a towing mode, so the trailer can “disappear.”

Trailer Reverse Steering Control

Another option for the Ram HD range is to turn the control on the center console in the desired direction. The system handles steering while the driver controls the brake and accelerator.

Power Wagon

Available only as a 2500 Crew Cab, this is the off-road specialist. It features a standard 4-wheel drive and a removable front anti-roll bar to provide as much axle articulation as possible. Other goodies are the Warn Zeon-12 winch (rated at 12,000 pounds and with a synthetic rope that resists bending and friction), front/rear differentials with electronic locking, and custom Bilstein suspension.

Harman Kardon audio

This 17-speaker/900-watt surround sound system, available only on the top Limited trim, will be the perfect finishing touch for any luxurious interior.

2026 RAM 2500 Engine

On the performance front, the new 2026 RAM 2500 truck model is expected to be capable of a truly reliable full-throttle gradual acceleration. On the race track, the truck model with 4WD delivers 8.3 seconds for 0-60 mph. The simulated emergency stop at 60 mph took 140 feet.

When maneuvering around corners, the 2026 RAM 2500 feels very easy and light, making it suitable for daily city driving. The 2026 RAM 2500 Off-Road model can be experienced in the PowerWagon trim, which has been specialized for rugged Off-Road terrain.

You can choose between two engine options for the Ram 2500. The Cummins 6.7-liter inline-six turbodiesel engine makes the most power, with 430 hp and 1,075 lb-ft of torque. The 2023 Ram 2500 Rebel can go from 0 to 60 mph in 8.1 seconds. It has a more powerful engine and a less advanced six-speed automatic transmission. This has been replaced by a newer eight-speed automatic.

Ram also sells a 6.4-liter V-8 gasoline engine without a turbocharger. It makes 405 horsepower and 429 lb-ft of torque. With this setup, MotorTrend testing showed that the pre-refreshed 2500 could go from 0 to 60 mph in 7.5 seconds.

The GMC Sierra 2500HD, which competes with it, has a 6.6-liter Duramax turbodiesel V-8 engine that makes 470 hp and 975 lb-ft of torque. In Denali trim, it can go from 0 to 60 mph in just 6.5 seconds.

2026 RAM 2500 Payload

The 2026 RAM 2500 is a large, tough, comfortable truck with enormous towing and hauling capabilities. It is estimated to be capable of towing a 20,000-pound load or hauling a 4,000-pound payload.

The RAM’s maximum payload and towing capacity are impressive, even among the admittedlintenseng competition.

2026 RAM 2500 Payload

The RAM 2500 also has an enormous center console storage area and ample cargo capacity in the tcab’s rearcab. If you’re carrying kids, the ultra-wide rear seats can easily accommodate three child seats, and the seat anchors are accessible.

2026 RAM 2500 MPG

2026 RAM 2500 with fuel economy. The EPA exempts heavy-duty trucks from fuel economy ratings. Of course, everything will depend on the driving conditions and style, as the diesel engine ranges between 15 and 20 mpg, which is pretty good for a truck of this size and capability.

2026 RAM 2500 Models

The 2026 Ram 2500 is a heavy-duty pickup truck with three body styles: regular cab, crew cab, and mega cab (which has bigger crew cab seats that recline). The crew cab is available on all trims (Tradesman, Big Horn, Laramie, Rebel, Power Wagon, Limited, and Limited Longhorn).

The regular cab is only available on the Tradesman and Big Horn, while the Mega Cab is only available on the Laramie, Limited, and Limited Longhorn. The ordinary cab has an 8-foot (2.4-meter) bed, and the crew cab can have one too. A conventional crew cab has a 6-foot 4-inch (1.8-meter) bed, and a Mega Cab must have one.

The Power Wagon or Limited trim is great for people who wish to use their 2500 as a multi-purpose vehicle, such as for road trips, daily luxury cruising, and even off-roading.
