2027 RAM 1500 is still one of the top trucks on the market, even after a big overhaul in 2025. There is a trim for the 1500 that will work for any kind of job you need it for. We chose the Limited trim, which is quite nice inside and has enough room for all five seats.
We think the 2027 RAM 1500 will have a crisp exterior design that makes the vehicle look modern and new. The front fascia has been changed, however the original RAM badge is still on the front and back. Depending on the trim, you’ll get LED daytime running lights, fog lights, and a few different grille styles. Our model has a sleek chrome setup and high-end 22-inch x 9.0-inch painted and polished wheels.
The premium black leather bucket seats look quite beautiful on the inside. The front seats are heated, cooled, and have massaging functions. Not a bad way to pass the time. I have to say that the infotainment system isn’t my favorite. We got a free update to a 14.4-inch touchscreen in our automobile. The 12.0-inch touchscreen that comes with this car is standard, but I still don’t like the infotainment system.
There are too many menu icons on the interface, which makes it hard to find what you need. Also, the buttons on the left and right sides of the screen aren’t ordered in a way that makes sense. You can turn off Lane Keep Assist with the top button on the right side, but why? The top button on the left side has traction control and danger lights, which is another intriguing choice. Sadly, this isn’t a deal-breaker; I’m just being too picky about my buttons. You know I like buttons.
We really enjoyed how the suspension worked effectively on some tough roads, easily absorbing bumps. The 4-Corner Air Suspension was extremely comfy and let you change the height to fit different driving scenarios. I lowered it to put food and our filming gear in the back trunk, but I elevated it when we went off-road for a while.
The new 2027 RAM 1500 model also has the eTorque system. It has a belt-driven motor-generator and a 48-volt battery instead of a regular alternator. This arrangement lets it handle fast start/stop changes, capture energy when you brake, and even give you more torque when you step on the gas.
The end result is smoother acceleration, higher fuel economy, and up to 130 lb-ft of additional torque straight away. Ram says the car gets 16 miles per gallon in the city and 20 miles per gallon on the highway, which is around 18 miles per gallon total. However, we only got 12 to 13 miles per gallon for most of the week. That involves a lot of driving in the city and using the air conditioning, but we didn’t see 16 mpg.

The headlights run straight to the accent lights that make up the truck’s RAM emblem. The 1500 REV has a customized badge and R-shaped taillights at the back.

The Hemi V8 variant can haul 11,470 pounds, which is a lot. It’s not as strong as some of its closest competitors, but it can still tow more than the Inline-6 model, which can tow 9,740 pounds.
