2023 Jeep Wrangler So far we can’t think of a more capable or iconic vehicle than the 2023 Wrangler. Do you want to sail by the beach or traverse the steep trails? There’s a Wrangler for you.

While Jeeps haven’t changed much in the grand scheme of things, their continued evolution means today’s Wranglers offer more comfort and usability than ever before, although the rugged ride and noisy interior persist.

We really like the diesel engines available for their low-speed torque and good fuel economy, but we can’t deny our interest in the fire-breathing Rubicon 392 and its 470 horsepower V8.

For 2022, the Wrangler is receiving some pretty big updates that include the aforementioned Rubicon 392 as well as a version powered by a fuel-efficient hybrid setup.

Even with the new Ford Bronco on the way, we can’t see Jeep making more than minor changes to the Wrangler for 2023.

While owning a 2023 Wrangler isn’t for everyone, we’re struggling to name a real competitor to this off-road icon. You will enjoy going pretty much anywhere there is a trail. If you can’t wait to get behind the wheel, we see no real reason to wait for the 2023 model.

The 2023 Wrangler continues the Jeep legacy from the time of the world wars. Taking inspiration from military Jeeps, the fourth generation Jeep Wrangler was introduced in 2018. Since then there have been no significant changes other than a few trim level shuffles.

The 2022 Jeep Wrangler got a complete top-down refresh and isn’t expected to do the same any time soon. So expect the Jeep Wrangler 2023 to return with some minor changes like a shuffle in the trim levels and a few color options.

Just imagine the Jeep Wrangler 2023 will have a new 35-inch tire option for the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Trail-rated.

The tires will be a set of BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A K02, the same type found on the factory standard 33-inch Rubicon. 17-inch Beadlocks sourced from Mopar will at least be one of the wheel offerings.

This wheel and tire package may be exclusive to the Rubicon but we don’t rule out the possibility that it will be available for additional variants at some point, such as the 4xe hybrid and 392.

Jeep’s response to the Sasquatch package, while highly welcomed by brand loyalists, will be beaten again by Ford after Bronco Raptor debuts.

From what it shows will come standard with 37-inch tires along with upgraded shocks, suspension, and exterior components. Jeep may, again, have no choice but to respond. Technically and mechanically it shouldn’t be a problem.

For years, Jeep has had a tough off-road SUV market with the 2023 Wrangler and Bronco presenting a very significant problem. Obviously, Ford did his homework by analyzing the Wrangler inside and out.

The current JL-generation Wrangler entered series production in 2017 for the 2018 model year. The midlife refresh should happen sooner than Jeep planned.

Anyway, this new off-road wheel and tire package should be announced soon and we can’t wait for the head-to-head battle between the Wrangler and the off-road-ready Bronco.

Fabric seats are standard on the Jeep Wrangler which can be upgraded to genuine leather. The seats are comfortable for long trips. The armrest is wide enough for the driver and passenger.

At the back, there is enough room for three adults. Coming to the infotainment system, every Jeep Wrangler gets a 7-inch screen with an optional 8.4-inch floating infotainment screen.

The screen is of excellent quality and there is no screen glare problem even in bright sunlight. The display includes HD and satellite radio with seven USBs and additional ports.

It also has Android Auto and Apple CarPlay in its technology suite along with wireless device charging. The 8-speaker Alpine sound system will take the party on the road. It also has SiriusXM with navigation features.

Overall the entire interior layout of this car is practical with appropriate functionality.

The 2022 model year of the Jeep Wrangler received major changes in terms of interior and exterior styling along with several advanced features.

It is also possible that the 2023 model for the Jeep Wrangler has the same sense of style as the 2022 model.

It has the same iconic rugged look as the Jeep Wrangler. In its fourth generation, the Jeep Wrangler has come a long way. The Wrangler will continue to offer the same performance attributes as its predecessor.

The grille on the front looks very bold. It also includes a red tow hook on the back that looks like it’s ready to pull just about anything.

Bigger off-road tires add an average look that can be used on any terrain. The LED lights also have a very nice classic retro look.

Plus, Meunier revealed that the upcoming Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer will eventually get the 4xe treatment too.

The Jeep Wrangler 2023 is expected to offer the option in two engine options like the 2022 model year.

Most trims will carry a naturally aspirated 3.6L V6 engine that will produce 285 HP and 260 lb-ft of torque or a 2.0L turbocharged inline-4 engine with 270 HP and torque. 295 lb-ft, depending on your choice.

According to some speculation, the Jeep Wrangler 2023 could get a V8 engine connected to an 8-speed automatic transmission as well.

The naturally aspirated 3.6L V6 engine of the Jeep Wrangler 2023 can accelerate from 0-60 in 6.6 seconds and the quarter-mile in 15.5 seconds.

However, due to the size of the car, it affects the ride quality and handling, as well as top speed and performance which is slightly lower than some of its rivals.

Comparatively, the Jeep Wrangler manages to sprint from 0 to 60 mph in under 7 seconds. However, the Toyota 4Runner gets you from 0 to 60 mph in under 6 seconds, making it the fastest in the competition.

The base 3.6L V6 naturally aspirated engine for the Jeep Wrangler 2023 delivers 17 MPG in the city and approximately 23 MPG on the highway and 19 MPG combined.

The larger 2.0L turbocharged inline-4 engine in the top trim delivers 22 MPG in the city and 24 MPG on the highway. MPG figures are similar to the previous model.

While all of the Jeep Wrangler 2023 competitors achieve the same average in terms of MPG figures, the Ford Bronco 2023 has a slightly better combined range. Land Rover fuel figures are not available at this time.

How Much Will A Jeep Wrangler Cost In 2023

Indeed, there is no certainty in determining the price. But the price of the Jeep Wrangler 2023 is expected to go up but not too expensive.

The 2022 Jeep Wrangler comes with a base price of $28,295. So, expect a 2023 Jeep Wrangler to start at $29,000. The Jeep Wrangler Sport 2023 is the least expensive model of all trims.

Like the previous model, it will offer a 2-door variant and a 4-door variant with all models offering a soft-top to enhance the off-road experience. The price will be higher because the trim is higher.

One thing about Jeep is that it treats each trim differently and tries to give each trim maximum features.

2023 Jeep Wrangler Magneto

It’s an all-electric, six-speed manual-equipped Jeep Wrangler Magneto Concept, and in many ways, it represents a bridge between the past and the future for the brand.

I only had 15 minutes to myself with Magneto, but I learned a lot in that time frame. For the full experience, watch the video above so you can see (and hear) how wild this Jeep is.

Jeep kicked off the project with a 2018 two-door Wrangler Rubicon with a standard V6 and manual transmission. They immediately unplugged the engine and electrocuted the car, most importantly maintaining the six-speed and low-range modes.

While the car is actually impossible to stop, even with left gear without the clutch pressed, driving it does require shifting.

The Magneto’s powertrain is good for making 270 horsepower, with around 350 lb-ft of torque as well. In the circumstances we drove it (without doors or rear seats), this concept weighed 5,750 pounds.

Jeep limits torque to mimic the combustion engine experience. Need to climb a rock? Go downstairs first. Want to pick up speed through flat areas? Pin the go pedal and go into position 4.

Driving the Magneto is a largely silent affair, save for some pretty significant whirring noises emanating from the transfer box and power steering unit. Jeep assured us that if the Wrangler BEV were to enter production (hint, wink wink), it wouldn’t whine and scream like a concept car.

The throttle is easy to modulate and the car happily maintains its Wrangler, sliding over rocks and ruts without protest.

If — to be honest, when — Jeep made an all-electric Wrangler, it wouldn’t have much to share with Magneto. But this awesome little Frankenstein project, with its stick shifts and bright blue accents, is a smiley preview of what a Jeep 2023 Wrangler would look like without gas.

Jeep used the concept to test the waters with customers today, but don’t be surprised in a few years when Moab’s lane is filled with Wranglers that sit still off the highway like their gas-powered predecessors.

The Wrangler EV is slowly appearing on the horizon, as Jeep has now confirmed that a version of the battery-powered SUV concept will arrive this spring.

A teaser photo on the company’s new “The Road Ahead” minisite suggests that this new spinoff won’t mess with the Wrangler’s iconoclastic look despite having a completely different powertrain underneath.

We’ll see the full concept this spring as part of the Easter Jeep Safari in late March or early April, and a production model could follow later this year or early 2023.

The diagram showing the basics of the Wrangler EV shows a single electric motor with a transfer case (possibly two speeds), rather than the dual-motor setup that other all-wheel-drive EVs use.

We’re looking at three, or maybe even four battery modules. It will still have the body-on-frame setup like the standard Wrangler and Wrangler 4xe plug-in-hybrid.

The Wrangler EV also appears to have a blue tow hook up front, and perhaps the different lighting setup sets it apart from its brethren. We don’t know anything about battery capacity, power output, or estimated range yet.

As was the case with the plug-in-hybrid 4xe model, we can assume that Jeep will make a lot of claims about its off-road capabilities.

The Jeep Wrangler Magneto takes a slightly different approach with the multi-speed EV concept. Designers installed a low-speed electric motor that almost replaced the stock Wrangler 3.6-liter V-6.

With 285 hp and 273 lb-ft and maxed out at 6,000 pm, the electric motor stats overshadow the V-6, which makes 285 hp, 260 lb-ft, and peaks at 6,600 rpm.

Interestingly, the electric motor is connected to a six-speed manual transmission via a conventional pedal-operated clutch, and the powertrain is calibrated to respond like the petrol engine it replaces.

With a torque curve that is flatter than an electric motor, Jeep says the Magneto concept can reach 60 mph in 6.8 seconds. For comparison, we’ve noted a two-door Wrangler with a combined manual V-6 and six speeds up to 60 mph in 7.4 seconds.

Four lithium-ion battery packs, located in the cargo area, former fuel tank location, and under the hood, produce a total of 70 kWh, while a pair of 12-volt battery power accessories range from the stereo to the winch.

All electrical equipment is housed in a waterproof housing, allowing the Magneto to provide the same 30-inch water-fording capability as the gas-powered Wrangler, and robust slip plates protect the battery from off-road scarring.

Jeep has finished off the Magneto with a 2.0-inch lift kit, rock rails, 35-inch tires, and a Warn winch. The special roll cage and white-black-blue paint scheme give it a cool early 1980s beach cruiser feel.

The Jeep Wrangler Unlimited will likely carry over into 2023 without a major update. The current Jeep 2023 Wrangler line debuted in 2018, though it retains the character and ruggedness of its forefathers.

The four-door Unlimited is significantly longer than the two-door Wrangler, and five passengers can drive in relative comfort. The Unlimited offers 31 cubic feet of cargo space behind the rear seats, and 72.4 cubic feet with it folded.

The entry-level sports are as rugged as they are, but lack everyday comfort. The Sport S delivers more than what buyers expect, like standard air conditioning and power windows and locks, plus access to a popular group of options.

The mid-level Sahara provides a higher level of equipment equivalent to a family-oriented crossover. The move to the Rubicon brings enhanced all-terrain features such as a heavy-duty axel, disconnecting sway bar, and electronic locking differential. The leather-covered High Altitude continues as a luxury model.

The Sport carries a small 5-inch touchscreen but has eight speakers and two USB ports. The Sport S, Sahara, and Rubicon get a 7-inch touchscreen, satellite radio, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility.

Optional on this trim is the Premium Audio Group with navigation, an 8.4-inch touchscreen, an Alpine sound system. This upgrade is included in the High Altitude trim.

The Wrangler Unlimited’s standard 3.6-liter V6 engine produces 285 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque. A six-speed manual transmission remains standard, and an eight-speed automatic is available.

The High Altitude skipped the V6 in favor of a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine with 270 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque. The 2.0 liter is available in other trims at no additional cost.

The top choice for all models is the 3.0-liter turbodiesel V6 that offers 260 hp and 442 lb-ft of torque. Along with all that torque, the turbodiesel delivers top-notch efficiency, 25 miles per gallon with an EPA rating in combined driving. Automatic transmission is required with 2.0 liter and turbodiesel.

The part-time low-range four-wheel-drive continues as standard on all Wrangler Unlimited models. A full-time 4WD system is available in Sahara and Rubicon.

The Sport doesn’t have any active safety tech, but there are plenty available elsewhere in the lineup. Sport S, Sahara, and Rubicon can get complete driver assistance features.

Bundled options include adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, automatic high beam, rear parking sensors, and automatic emergency braking. These items are standard at High Altitudes.
