If the Renegade uses the Small Wide 4×4 platform developed by Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA), its little brother will use a foundation engineered by Groupe PSA.

More specifically, the unnamed Jeep model will be built on a Compact Modular Platform (CMP) and use engines from PSA.

The hardware has been applied to various Peugeot and DS models, so the solution can be adapted for future vehicles.

The ANE report does not explain in detail the size. But according to logic, the vehicle is certainly smaller than the Renegade.
The predecessor measures 166.6 inches (4,230 millimeters) long, 71.1 inches (1,810 mm) wide and 66.5 inches (1,690 mm) high. While the wheelbase is recorded at 101.2 inches (2,570 mm).
On the other hand, Alfa Romeo and Fiat are also planning their own small crossover versions. Only, the model will come a little later.
ANE reports that the Alfa-made car – potentially called the Brennero – will hit the production line in January 2023, while the Fiat will hit the assembly line in July 2023.
Both will also be built in Poland, where the Fiat 500 and Lancia Ypsilon are currently produced by parent company Stellaris.
The Alfa Romeo Brennero will be positioned under the new Tonale compact crossover, while the new Fiat model will be placed under the 500X.
Given that the CMP architecture is already used in several small cars, adding another three on the same platform (and built in the same factory) would obviously provide financial savings for Stellaris.
It is not yet clear whether these three models will be available in the United States (US), where customers usually prefer large vehicles.
Europe and emerging markets are ideal targets, offering buyers a more affordable way to drive a Jeep, Alfa Romeo or Fiat crossover.

Jeep holds a special place in the hierarchy, as its history in this segment goes back decades, long before the term sports vehicle was used. A new Jeep is likely to come in 2022 that will fill those ultra-small shoes, and here’s our exclusive take on how it looks.
You might be surprised to see very little resemblance to Jeep’s current little offering, the Renegade. This model will be placed under the Renegade, but we don’t think it will have a similar design structure.
That’s because things have changed at Jeep parent company FCA in recent months, especially with regards to the FCA-PSA merger. Jeep now has access to small platforms like Peugeot and Opel, not to mention Fiat.
That’s significant, as it’s entirely possible the new Jeep will only be offered in the Euro and Asian markets. Giving a face that looks more like a bigger Jeep model like the Cherokee can help differentiate SUVs in a segment often referred to as cutesy ‘utes’. In this case, design inspiration also came from the Jeep Yuntu concept vehicle that was revealed at Auto Shanghai in 2017.
That’s also important, as rumors suggest that the new Jeep sub-compact could offer some form of electrification. The plug-in hybrid powertrain could be a mix, as well as a full-on EV variant.
The Yuntu was presented as a plug-in hybrid model, so there must be some symmetry in recasting the SUV – which was designed as a large three-row vehicle – into a small, highly efficient offering.

2022 Jeep Baby SUV Redesign
Jeep is gearing up to expand its full-size SUV lineup with the newly launched three-row Grand Cherokee L SUV and the production version of the upcoming Grand Wagoneer Concept.
But this doesn’t mean Jeep is abandoning its compact SUV lineup. We’ve known for some time now that Jeep is preparing a refresh for the entry-level Compass, which is expected to go on sale for the 2022 model year, but there could be more small SUVs to come from the brand.
The 2021 Grand Cherokee borrows design cues from the Grand Wagoneer concept, so it’s possible that smaller SUVs like the new Compass and Renegade will also adopt a similar styling.
To give us an idea of how the Grand Wagoneer’s styling will translate to a small SUV, artist KDesign AG has designed an unofficial render depicting a baby SUV Jeep with the automaker’s new design language.
Using the Compass as a base, the artist has applied the sleeker and more modern Grand Wagoneer grille and headlights featuring the concept’s full-width LED light bar to a hypothetical compact SUV. The lower part of the front fascia retains the lower grille of the current Compass but has new vents.
At the rear, the changes are more subtle, combining the modified headlamps of the Compass with elements of the lower rear fascia of the Grand Wagoneer.
Overall, it’s an attractive-looking SUV and we wouldn’t complain if the next-generation Compass or its future successors looked like this.
As for the new Jeep Compass facelift, the styling changes will be less significant. This updated compact SUV has made its debut in China with a more prominent grille and slimmer LED headlights and taillights.
Wider changes can be found in the interior, including a redesigned dashboard with a 10.3-inch display with the new Uconnect 5 infotainment system and a 10.1-inch instrument display.
Under the hood, the updated China Compass is powered by a turbocharged 1.3-liter engine producing 177 hp, which is likely to be offered for the US version along with the current model’s 2.4-liter naturally aspirated four-cylinder engine producing 180 hp and 175 lb. -ft torque.

This sub-4 meter SUV will be the only SUV in its category to offer an All-Wheel-Drive or 4×4 system. This will make it relatively expensive over existing front-wheel-drive urban crossovers.

2022 Jeep Baby SUV Engine
The upcoming Jeep Baby SUV is expected to be powered by a detuned version of the turbocharged 1.3-liter petrol engine. This engine seems capable of producing power of around 130bhp.
Jeep can also use a 1.2-liter turbocharged petrol engine from Groupe PSA. Likely producing around 130bhp, this engine will also power the upcoming Citroen C21 compact SUV.
Diesel engines could be introduced if demand for such vehicles exists in 2022-23.

Talk of a new Jeep crossover that’s even smaller than the subcompact Renegade was around a few years ago and now it looks like it’s finally coming.
Citing official documents from Jeep parent Stellantis, Automotive News (subscription required) reported last week that the baby Jeep, codenamed Project 516, will go into production in late 2022 at a plant located in Tychy, Poland, with related Fiat models inspired by the Concept.
Centoventi 2019 (shown below) to enter production at the same plant in 2023. The plant is currently home to the production of the Fiat 500 and Lancia Ypsilon.
A related Alfa Romeo crossover, possibly called the Brennero, after passing through Italian mountains like the upcoming Stelvio and Tonale (essentially the Renegade twin), is waiting to be approved, according to the report.
Polish Deputy Prime Minister Jaroslaw Gowin in a tweet last December also mentioned investment in the Tychy plant to support new vehicles.
The basis for the new vehicle is the Stellantis CMP front-wheel-drive platform which is designed for mini and subcompact cars and supports plug-in hybrid and battery-electric powertrains.
A Jeep executive in a 2019 interview hinted at a baby Jeep measuring over 13 feet long, which would place it in the mini-car segment. In comparison, the subcompact Renegade stretches nearly 14 feet.
According to an Automotive News report, the Jeep and Fiat (and possibly Alfa Romeo) baby crossover will launch with an internal combustion engine but eventually offer a battery-electric powertrain.
An electric version of the Jeep is reportedly coming in 2023, which would likely make it the first electric Jeep, excluding the Jeep Wrangler Magneto concept that just appeared at this year’s Moab Easter Jeep Safari.
Unfortunately, baby Jeeps (and baby Alfa Romeos) will likely be off-limits in the United States because of their small size. This isn’t the first Jeep to pass through the US.
The brand also sells the three-line Grand Commander exclusively in China. This is a reflection of Jeep’s subsequent transformation into a global brand.

That’s a strong hint that the car will almost certainly adopt the Common Modular Platform (CMP) architecture used among other things for the 2008 Peugeot and DS 3 Crossback.
As well as being able to accommodate both petrol and diesel power, the platform can also feature a fully electric drive with a range of up to 211 miles on a single charge.
Jeep’s short-term electrification strategy was fueled by the recent launch of the Renegade and Compass plug-in hybrids, both of which feature a 1.3-liter turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine, a compact lithium-ion battery pack, and a rear axle-mounted electric motor.
This system produces 187bhp and 237Nm of torque and will give both models a claimed maximum electric range of around 31 miles.
Pigozzi outlined to us the benefits of an electric motor when driving on the highway. “The shift from mechanical to all-wheel-drive ‘e’ is a huge improvement – more capable than a conventionally powered Jeep,” he said. “The large torque offered by the electric motor allows [the car] to easily crawl over rocks and obstacles.
And the fact that it’s mounted on the rear axle means [the car] is being pushed up a hill rather than being pulled.”
Jeep’s rapid shift to electrification, with its upcoming lineup of all-electric and plug-in hybrid models, will help the brand pull its average emissions below its upcoming EU-regulated range average target of 95g/km, which is being phased out. this year. and will come into effect in 2021.
